The Old Folks Home

Perchie/Deb! You are looking marvelous! I am so happy for you, and yes, I agree with everyone, you LOOK happy, and HEALTHY! You have come so far and I know it's been a hard won battle for you but it was so much worth your while. Keep it up.

I'm also sooooo happy that you got the chickens you have been wanting for so long. The uphill climb is leveling out for you! Life is getting back to what is the new normal for you.

My husband surprised me yesterday. Once upon a time long before we met, I had an art studio. I was forced to give it up because of a move and all of my furniture, the desk, the easel, the drafting table all had to be re-homed. I mentioned to him that I would like to set up another little studio in our hobby room and told him about my tilt table that I had and really missed. Later yesterday, he called me in to the radio room and directed my attention to his computer monitor where there was this state of the art drafting table with drawers, equipment holders, the works. Happy Birthday next month, he said to me. All I could do was wipe the tears from my eyes and hug him.

He has been so wonderful, urging me to get back to my art and not put it on the back burner any longer. We are also rearranging the hobby room to accommodate the drafting table and whatever other equipment I might need.

Fantastically Wow, deb! Almost didn't recognize you. You're a shadow of your former self! Hopefully the weight loss has drastically lightened the load on your health, too. Onward, upward and beyond!

Are they like the ones in texas that get into electrical junction boxes and destroy the wires?
Luckily no ants like that are here yet

They are quite large with HUGE black heads. "The better to bite you with, my dear...." Seriously, like bobblehead ants.

Peep, Good grief, and to think it's ants. Hmmmm
I didn't know ants eat pepper plants. I've not had that happen. So now, watch I'll have ants eating my pepper plants.

Maybe we need to set a $20 minimum.
Might want to get her a pass this ONE time, honest mistake? I'm sure Al will be quite specific in the future, repeating the plan, just in case.

I love all of them, but four kids for one couple seems like a lot.
There is someone on BYH who just had #9.

The chickens have settled in
Everything is going well (except some of the pictures didn't make it) and you are looking great. I suspect you are feeling a lot better as well.

Sounds like a lot of room for them. :love
I bet those 3 get some friends.

Ahhhhh :love :clapfor DH. And he is right! With your physical problems there are so many things you used to love to do but can't now; you should definitely get back into a prior love. Watch us NOT be surprised when we see your artistic talent.

I told dh I want to wait and go to the lake next weekend. I have been having some bad chest pains. And I don't want to get to far from home right now. I hope the Dr will fix it soon after my appt. Wed.
Um, Chicka, that is more than a little worrisome!!!!!!!!

There was an unexplainable mixup when DD1 had the doctor call in a prescription. She's still in Canada but will be here in about a week. I went to Hannaford to pick it up, they never heard of her. I called her so she could get that cleared up. We had been getting robocalls from Walgreens saying a prescription was ready to be picked up. I figured it was just a wrong number since we have NEVER had a prescription filled at any Walgreens, in fact I doubt I've been in one more than a few times.

Got another robocall today so I called them, it was for us, for DD1's Candesartan. She said she had no insurance info, I told her DD1 has no insurance here. Price: $351. She could bring it down some with their generic coupon but suggested I look for something better so I did.

Now the reason for this post: If you are getting prescriptions at Walgreens, check around because they are WAY high cost. We all know that in the USA we are getting royally screwed with the price of prescription drugs (it would be $20 in Canada) but Walgreens seems to be taking it as a challenge to screw us even more.

According to GoodRx:
Hannaford would get $271 for the same prescription. With a GoodRx coupon Hannaford is $64.57, Walgreens $86.82. Only Krogers was cheaper ($39.96, though $286 retail) and the closest one to me is in New Jersey. I also checked her Aimovig - retail at Hannaford $734, with coupon $603.38; Walgreens is $725/$653.91. Krogers with coupon was $20 higher than Hannaford. The Aimovig in Canada is $370 US.

She's been getting her prescriptions up there but with the Covid thing shutting down the school she has no access to the school doctor for prescriptions. And it turns out the foreign student prescription cap is $4,000 (CAD) which she has hit, it will reset when school starts in Sept.

Good grief. I'm so glad we get free prescriptions in Wales.
