The Old Folks Home

:frow everyone!

Still busy busier busiest here. I am scheduled to get my next Prolia shot on the 7th of next month. I know from the past two shots (this is my 4th) that it will likely knock me on my butt. Not sick but exhaustion, joint pain, no appetite, the works. Last shot was bad as far as side effects were concerned and I tried to talk the doctor out of me getting another one. He wouldn't back down and asked me to tough out one more shot which would put me up to the time for my next Dexa Scan. He said it was really important for them to see if I was rebuilding bone with this drug. I told him okay, I'd tough it out. Not happy but feel pretty much cornered. It's like take the shot or risk a severe bone break? I have the feeling that a broken hip would put a kink in my life style so I take the shot.

In the mean time we are trying to get the wood collecting done and at least in the barn ready to be split so we are done with the heavier harvesting work by the first of July. That means going out every day that weather permits, dropping dead trees or harvesting overgrowth and getting it up to the house. Usually 2+hours of hard work followed by the usual daily routine so that by the end of the day I am whipped.

@bruceha2000, yeah, Bud light is the beer of choice around here. I think it's funny. Back in the good old days before Covid 19 I would be standing in line at the grocery and there would be a man a head of me and one behind with a cart and all they would have in it would be a 24 can box of Bud light and a sack of deli food. My cart would have a month's worth of groceries in it. A talk with the manager one day confirmed my suspicions. He said if it wasn't for the beer and fried deli food sales, the place would close. Sad. We always support local businesses. Not many do these days but head to Kirksville or Macon or even Moberly for their shopping.

I thought that would change with the way things are with the virus. Don't know. Who can safely go to the store any longer?
