Dh is using a new method of adding salt to the pool.

Why are you adding salt to the pool? Is it a salt water pool? Very confused.

Why are you adding salt to the pool? Is it a salt water pool? Very confused.

Instead of having to add chlorine to our pool, we have a salt generator. A salt generator, takes the salt from the water, and turns it into chlorine. A large amount of salt is not needed. It's not enough to make the water taste salty. It's the same salt we add to the water softener. It takes about 1/2 a bag every 3 weeks to maintain it, during the summer, depending on the settings. Due to all the rain we've had lately, Dh micromanaged things, and jacked up the settings. That's how we ran out of salt.
