The Old Folks Home

☀️ Good morning OFs.
We have had some beautiful weather the last few days after an almost solid week of rain.
Still getting tomatoes, peppers and zucchini from the garden...also herbs, chives, basil, parsley.
Good to see new OFs and others ( @Cynthia12 ) that haven’t been on much.
I, too, am worried about @chickadoodles. I hope she is okay and not in the path of Sally.

Thanks, Ron. I've been around, just taking a breather.

Isn't Chicka due to have that heart surgery on the 17th? Definitely hope that she is alright.

I have lots of projects going on here. A new wall for the chicken coop, a new door for the shop and a bigger door for the barn so DH can get the tractor in and out better. New doors for our closets from a design I found on GRIT magazine, on top of the usual hobby farm chores.

Hope everyone is staying well at the Home.

Read an article recently (don't remember if it was in an old issue of "Archaeology" or the "Smithsonian") about how before CA was settled, the Native Americans every couple of years used to do controlled burns of the wooded areas. Yes, ancient forest management! They intuited that regular brush clearing aided in healthy plant growth.

Anyway, I found that interesting especially in light of the current flammable conditions.

Ron hope you're doing ok with all the smoke out there. Fires, floods, Hurricanes...I believe in Climate Change. ☹
We are beginning to look more normal here and now as much orange and yellow. Air quality is 119 this morning so moving into the light orange zone. It is easier to breath!

I hope we continue to see improvement
