The Old Folks Home

We have a propane on-demand H2O heater. It is efficient only for big constant water users like taking a shower. For short on/off cycling, not efficient at all. I wonder how much hot water the HE washing machine or the dishwasher ever get.

True... I was wondering that today, save electricity or save water... at my house it is way better to save electricity, so the on demand is great.

Careful there Al, you are getting awfully soft in your old age. You might even start allowing the heat to come on in the house!

I AM!!!! :barnie :th

I kid you NOT! I have been cranking the space heater up past 60 during the day! A few times up to 66!!

The new space heater will NOT let me turn it down to 40 at night.... the lowest it goes is 50! 50!!

We are sleeping at 50F!!

We never see our breath indoors!

Crazy town.

I must have gone mental.

Not only did I SPEND MONEY to fix the water heater, last month I bought a kitchen storage cart for the pantry, and today I was eyeing ammo storage... luckily I have thought of something that I might be able to re-purpose and make do. So, I didn't buy ammo storage.

Also... just last week, I shelled out REAL money for work boots for the working kid.. all of the shop work he does means the junk shoes I have been buying him only last maybe 3 months before splittingain't bits. So.... I decided it was time... also, I think his feet have stopped growing.. and if not, he has 2 younger brothers.

Well, miracles do happen. DH took Diesel to the vets today for his vaccinations. I held my breath. The last trip there he terrorized the place (at 8 months of age no less) and everyone there. Today he was on perfect behavior. Not a peep out of line.

To think he's the same dog that last summer we were ready to give up on. I guess it's true that the troubled dog is the one you need the most because he has come so far. Yes, it's been hard work on our part and at times I'm not sure who is training whom but something positive has come out of the hours of walking and endless commands of Sit! Walk! No Sniffing! Heel! over and over again has evidently done some good....I mean we have it down pat!;)

Meanwhile, Diesel is still closing the door and demanding extra walks and yes, still opening the door also.

Add to the confusion, his Big Sister, Sidney has learned to close the door also by watching him. Sure makes getting two dogs corralled for workouts easier but I'm seeing a rather frightening trend here.
It does sound like the cattle dogs add a lot of extra "fun" to life there!

Good Morning!

Good morning, nice and mild here compared to the last week, 39° and not even fog like yesterday.
I work Sat-Mon so today is my grocery and prep day, better get started!
It sounds like nice weather. Will the fog burn off? Here we get fog from December to March on some days. It usually burns off about 10am

the weekly food prep and shopping is tomorrow for me.

46 to be 60 today. Lawn snow all gone, rain barrels full of runoff, and lots of melted snow water pouring off the roof.
The next few sunny days means yard cleanup.
Not planning on having any trick-or-treaters, but I have the candy suppy at hand!

We should not have trick or treaters either!

Both the state and the County said not for this year
