Kinda odd but as we age now I can see more of that being the norm

I am so sorry! Between Christmas and New Years day we lost a friend and the neighbor across the street to CovidWow. I just got some news that I don't know how to react to.
I just lost three friends in less than twenty four hours.

Thanks Al. I guess this is just how it is as one gets older .
I'm so sorry JD. I know what it is to experience overwhelming loss, too close together.
The year my best friend died, a couple weeks later, I had to rush to KY. My mom had a reaction to the meds they gave her to combat leukemia. During the Christmas holidays, we planned, and held her funeral. I came home the first of the year. I had been home for only a few hours, when my middle daughter called. She was on her way to the hospital. She was full term, and expected to deliver within 24 hours, BUT there were no baby sounds, or movement. Her OB/GYN sent her rushing to the hospital. The baby had died of umbilical cord problems.
My best friend, my mother, and my first granddaughter all gone within a 6 week period. After the baby's funeral, I was devastated, and overwhelmed. I dropped to my knees sobbing, and begged God not to allow any death near me for awhile. I simply could not take anymore. Too much death, too close together. God honored that prayer.
