The Old Folks Home

I would add 2 more fans'

I dont think the one at the bottom will be sufficient to create a uniform temperature

otherwise, i think its awesome
Thanks
I already have some more fans if needed but I thought I'd run it for awhile and see how one does. I'm afraid the computer fans won't stand up to the humidity and will need replacing. I was mostly concerned with my writing I tend to be to vague in my descriptions.

Today I had a lesson in yokes

Yes yokes - not yolks. I am talking the device that attaches to a beast of burden to disperse the load they are pulling

There are two types in the Phils (both withers yokes) that water buffalo use - one for plowing and a different design for carts.

As it is time to get motza used to a load, she is getting one of each.
Slow and gentle training and practice practic practice!! I loved seent he young team walking about old Sturbridge VIllage as youngsters learning their future job!!

I have some good news..and Areille will know that it is something we've been waiting to hear.

We had a daughter show up a couple of weeks ago during the evening with some really sad news. That she has cancer. Now how in the world can that turn into good news? Well, it was stage 2 Melanoma..first they found it was cancer after cutting the mole out. Then they had to cut a big size piece of area with the lymph nodes to make sure that it hadn't spread there. If so, she would need Chemo. The test results are back, and there was no sign of it in the lymph nodes! That's the good news! She has two more that look like the one they removed, so, she will have those removed and tested also. She had come by to tell us the news about her, but the dr. highly suggested that everyone in the family go be seen and checked. One son had one taken off of his face. No news yet from that one. Our son in GA. has two that he was actually watching..because they were changing. He is going in on the 3rd to have them looked at. This can be a genetic thing, not just a .. too long in the sun thing. All of the kids are going in..My DH is going in on the 13th. I've been watching a couple on his back.
Check for moles, you never know, but it's one of those cancers, if you catch it early enough, you should be fine! Thank the Lord!

All goood news!!!! IT is one of those cancers that has a good outcome when caught early!!!!

My mother has beaten the stats on melanoma survival!! Can be done. Brother had all his moles removed about 20 years ago-- ALL.

Diva, I am so glad you are ok! It is a pain when we have to fight with our doctors to tell them we know something is wrong and they don't listen to us!
I hope and pray that you and your family will not have any more of these to have to deal with.
It really is important to advocate for ourselves with our doctors. We are the ones that know our bodies. I remember going to my doctor one time and telling him I was having a recurrence of active mono, He insisted it wasn't possible. I argued with him, laying out the symptoms I was again experiencing and kept at it until he realized the only way he was going to get rid of me was to run the test. Guess what - I was right. The pediatricians finally just trusted me whenever I said one of the kids had strep throat. This was back before there was a quick strep test and you had to wait for days, without treatment, to get the lab results back. My kids did not have "standard" strep symptoms (until it turned into scarlet fever anyway) but there was a particular, disgusting smell. Anyway, after too many times of saying "there's nothing wrong with your kid" and sending them out into the world to spread the joy, they finally would take the swab, give me the antibiotic, and call me in three days to say the results were positive.

Well it's 5:44 pm and the chicks that pipped this afternoon have not hatched yet. In fact I don't see them moving any more? The baby that was out kept pecking at the hole in the shells on the other two that were trying to hatch. Do you suppose it killed the other two? One has not pipped or anything so far.

I have had so many rounds with different doctors about my children and myself so many times I cannot even count. I really don't like going to doctors and have avoided them like the plague most of my life. Now I have to many of them to keep up with. lol

This is such a tough call. Chicks can sit for hours behind a pip before they start unzipping, so the usual advice is to leave them alone. Opening the 'bator to check on them lets the humidity out and that can lead to them getting shrink wrapped, then they can't get out on their own.

My wife gets rheumatic fever. My Youngest DD had sore throat and they did not seem interested in testing--I told him about my DWs history and they tested--postive for strep.

I'd probably leave them be for now, I've had them take more than 12 hours from pip to zip. If the hole is open they can get air, and as long as the humidity is okay they should not shrink wrap - not that they won't, I have had a couple do it when I really thought there was more than enough humidity in the hatcher. If you decide to open have a spray bottle of very warm water handy, or put a warm soaked cloth in a dish or something in there to boost humidity back up right away.
