The Old Folks Home

Plz send me your old one........... plzzzzzzzzzzzz... ha ha ha... I found some 15 watt bulbs and the styrofoam container still got too hot.. time for some other type of container... I'm gonna keep trying until I get it right!!

And the weeklings moved to 1/2 of the big brooder today out of the smaller tub they were in. They have been staying as far from the heat lamp as possible even when the temps said 85 - 90 degrees... now they can roam as they please. When they feather out a bit then I add the second half of the dog kennel end to end, and they have plenty of room.View attachment 2566626
Only old incubators I am getting rid of are those crappy styrofoam ones. I have 4 newer ones going right now.

Been busy here going getting thi9ng done nice weather today almost 60 out really need to watch myself .. Burned bad left left thumb a week ago bad burn now got my left arm right at the elbow bend not as bad as the thumb but crap
Ask your doctor to prescribe Silvadene. Great stuff for burns. Hugs

As for the rest, yes I wait for a month before wanting to hatch out any eggs from a swap in roos for that very reason.

Last summer I waited a month, maybe 5 weeks... before gathering eggs to hatch..
The entire blasted lot are from the male that was pulled over a month ago...
I was just looking at them again... clear crosses!!!
Super sperm is all I can say.

Ordered up some BLRW eggs. They got caught in a freeze -- don't you love getting a box of frozen, cracked eggs? -- and only one hatched...with clearly feathered legs. Called the breeder. "Oops. Got a BLRW hen from a person with Brahmas. Put her in my purebred pen and waited a month before selling her eggs." The resultant chick was named Oops.

Oops is a cute name. I like that.

Dh, and grandson are off to get supplies to build a clubhouse. For awhile now, the kids have used scraps, various odds and ends of all sorts of things, and deemed it their clubhouse. They play in it often, and Dh was impressed with their ingenuity. Being the perfectionist he is, the Mr. Monk side of him is crying out for them to have a "proper" clubhouse.
