Congrats and Happy Birthday! A few more weeks and of the original 6 I got (5 cockerels, 1 pullet) I only have Henrietta left. She's in the big round pen I just finished stretching her legs and doing what chickens do. I let her out of the medic cage today since there's no sign of infection, and a sprain or pulled muscle will take time to heal. She's got 4 weeks to make ends meet before I need that big pen for babies in brooders. Charlie Sheen went to be another rooster on the Hutto farm. He was twice the size and weight of any of my hens. I'm sure I'll have at least one cockerel to raise up to replace him, in the meantime there are 6 hens taking a breeding break.

I was showing Tommy his one daughter I got from hatching eggs.. she's considerably bigger than my other hens but looks like a BCM.
 
Good morning, Old Folks!

None of the pea nor beet seeds have sprouted, but the radishes are all little green tops in their assigned rows. Don't know what caused the garden failure this year except we did have a sudden onslaught of VERY cold nights. Sigh.... So to decide whether to replant or do something else in their beds.
Over the weekend (yesterday) all 8 eggs in lockdown hatched. Need to set up the garage brooder as they must evacuate the hatcher soon as the next batch for lockdown goes in on Wednesday.
Getting my 2nd Covid vax on Thursday. Anticipating a quiet weekend of non-activity if the polling of previous second-dose recipients is correct.
