Well, you just have to see what color eggs the next generation will lay.

CORRECT! I'm working on larger egg size anddddd color. May take a few generations but at least I have a start on it. Was out taking pictures and Twist laid another egg. She's laying dark cream eggs (Cinnamon Queen) while one of the other gals (Calico Princess) lays much darker eggs. Also have 'somebody' who has started laying in the pullet turn out pen that's laying dark eggs comparable to my BCM. Her daughter is in that pen, but I don't think she's really old enough to lay yet at 15 weeks, so it must be one of the store bought (BSL?) pullets I bought. They are 20 weeks now. I'll make a few posts to display my breeding results if you don't mind too much.
These are gals from my Bielefelder/EE (looks like a brahma with big muffs hen) And one speckled gal from my Big Cockoo Marans and my BSL hen, Henrietta. I pulled a few of Henrietta's eggs after Charlie left to go work on a cattle farm.

These last two are pure Bielefelder pullets and Henrietta's speckled girl.

All the Bielefelders and B crosses will go back in with Graystoke to give his two hens a rest.

Next up are Bruce's and Prince's offspring.
Far left is Prince's daughter from my BCM hen. Bottom center is one of Charlette's daughters. as well as the far right. White pullet is the only daughter I got from Snowflake. The rest were cockerels.

Wild mix. She has Cockoo Marans x2, Black Astrolorp, and BSL lines. Kinda doubt all the hawks or eagles will be messing with my flock. Wait to see the eggs she lays. I'm aiming for nice dark brown eggs medium size or better.
Lastly for the largish pullets. This is one of two pullets I got from TSC that were marked as Black Sex Links. I've been so pleased with my first one I wanted a few more. Somehow I doubt they are what they were sold as. I suspect it's her or the other one laying the really dark eggs as she's now 20 weeks old.

And on the weee side of things, a few of K.E. offspring from Sara (my avatar) Sara looks just like the barred hen in the last photo of the previous post. All their babies look like cockoo marans except one pullet. She is black with red leakage in her hackle feathers.

I have two Janoel I have a 24 and a 12 great hatches not half bad hatches I do not add water till the lockdown on both. Living where you do you would have to experiment.

I got a Nurture Right 360 this year after my previous incubator failed badly. I love it!
