The Old Folks Home

Sunny, gorgeous day here.

We're going to what will pass for the Michigan Irish Music Festival in Muskegon today. It was cancelled last year, of course. They cancelled it for this year too, since a lot of the groups who come are from "across the pond." So this last minute (set up in June, I think) one day affair is much appreciated.

Tomorrow we'll visit the Fallasburg Fall Festival. We have it lucky with that: we can take "the back way in" and not be part of the 1-2 mile crawl of cars going into the parking lot. It's about 10 miles from our house. I've gotten some really pretty things there. Hope I find some more glass or something carved from wood.

bruce, we HAVE a trailer that will work just fine for the tractor. The Lariat, with all the towing froo-froo will pull it just fine, on those exceedingly rare occasions that it might need it.

Something interesting happened while waiting to be approved. Dh has had many wants, and dreams that were formed in his younger years, that he has not let go of, or changed them to adapt to his current situation. While waiting for approval, he was still debating on whether to go with a larger one, when he began actually addressing our needs for one. Suddenly, to my happy surprise, HE became the practical one. I mentioned he needed to do the same thing with the truck.

Wonder if Marc Gunn will be there. He puts together some decent celtic music podcasts and does travel with his band too!

Glad to hear you are up and about again!
Limping badly. But I'm up and moving thanks to the magic of modern drugs. My right hip and lumbar/sacral areal (L5 to be exact) is very stiff and still sore today. I'm thinking of grabbing my walking stick when I go out again so I have something to lean on. My stride seems to be cut down by half.

Still I was able to get out and put the new hasp on my pop door. Now I need to further mouse proof the entranceway and finish up that project.

My roosters are being a***s this morning. Most are molting so I put it off to being cranky and miserable but I threatened one with the crock pot. Still being out there I can see who is picking on whom and take a boot to the transgressors.
