My thermostats are turned off, we don't have AC. It is supposed to push up to 70 the next few days.We set the thermostat at 68. I bet I'll be building a fire this week.
The only thing I can think happened is sometimes my girls like to cover their eggs. Somebody will get in a bucket nesting box, lay an egg, leave another hen gets in and starts scratching around in the box. Since I use Wheat Straw or mowed hay for nest bedding they go spelunking for seeds, kick bedding over the egg/eggs and I will find them in the back of the nest bucket covered with bedding. If I catch that, I usually pitch the whoe bunch from that box but every now and again they will kick one buried from the back of the box to the front and then it gets snuck in.how did that happen? I think it would have to be really really old.
