The Old Folks Home

For those of you who didn't get to experience the joys of hatching this year I posted the two previous videos. While I was uploading them #5 popped the hatch and is now an official Bonnie Bee. Still waiting on #6 but the 21 full days just passed at or around 3pm, so I'm not worried.

how did that happen? I think it would have to be really really old.

Maybe it isn't what you are thinking but what you are drinking ... too much of ;)

It might get down to -10°F and you'll need to take the chill off.
The only thing I can think happened is sometimes my girls like to cover their eggs. Somebody will get in a bucket nesting box, lay an egg, leave another hen gets in and starts scratching around in the box. Since I use Wheat Straw or mowed hay for nest bedding they go spelunking for seeds, kick bedding over the egg/eggs and I will find them in the back of the nest bucket covered with bedding. If I catch that, I usually pitch the whoe bunch from that box but every now and again they will kick one buried from the back of the box to the front and then it gets snuck in.
