Deteriorating weather here. It's a good day to stay inside. Freya and I will go for our walk when it gets light out.

When I went out to lock up last night it was a balmy 65 degrees here. Didn't go so low last night and already warming up. There's rain headed this way.

The ground is mostly white now. Very windy. Glad for a nice warm fire today!

I am also very glad I put the windbreak up on the west side of the run. The roof is a good thing too. I like the solid roof/windbreak better than the tarp/shower curtain roof/windbreak. Maybe next year, I'll roof the other part of the run too.

"Free" eggs... HA! These are some of the most expensive eggs on earth.

Who was it who said, "Coops are never finished. They just keep evolving." Oh, maybe that was me.

Ding Dong! Went to deliver eggs to Amanda this morning. It helps her out buying feed, and helps the guy out who buys them for his large family. Amanda is the sweet gal that gave me KE (my first bantam), and the Gen Lee (my first silkie). She looked at me with those puppy eyes and said "You need any more roosters? I said let's look. There were 3 serama boys pretty as you please, but I don't need yard ornaments. Then to the silkie house, 3 beautiful black silkie boys.... Hmmmmmmmm, thinking. Then this guy appeared from around the corner. Oh! He's going too? Yush, I have my 3 main breeding roosters, and these are extra. Gimme gimme gimme! He settled right down in my arm as I patted him like a baby. Let's go ma! He's got the most beautiful indigo ears I've ever seen!
