The Old Folks Home

Okay.. I have a question. Are silkie chicks harder to raise than other breeds. Amanda has told me that they are so fragile and hard to raise.. So when I don't hear anything from the brooder I'm a bit freaked out.. Check, sleeping.... check, playing... check... etc.
I find them pretty sturdy, but a high percentage are males. It's a pain. More people seem to have trouble with polish.

Ours are blooming also, @CapricornFarm. I only have a few clusters that come up but I always enjoy seeing them in the spring.

Morning all.
The bluebells just seem to have just come up by themselves in my flower beds in front of the house. I don't mind!

Amanda has been raising them a while, and out of 5, she only could identify 1 as male. I think her problem with raising them is the condition of her brooders..
I might add, I've had a banner year this year for pullets outnumbering cockerels.

Well that's wonderful! I have been getting lots of girls in the bantam polish. Love that.
