The Old Folks Home

He figured out how many cords of wood we were going to need and said, come on, we are heading to tractor supply to buy a splitter. Got a 28 ton with a Honda motor.

Hey, Cap, no plans to get lost in the woods, lol. At our age, easier is better. Yesterday I was stripping dry mint leaves from stems for tea, saving the stems and tying them into little bundles. DH asked me what they were for and I told him kindling. They will light up easy and make the room smell good while they are burning.

Kindling is important.
Collecting kindling is my job.

Good morning how ya doing ? We get to go to Costco today why I am not excited ?
I need to go too! Although it wouldn’t be bad being in the a/c vehicle, I dread the walk into Costco once we get there. It’s always hotter, windier or rainier in the Costco lot.

I went out to the patio, and discovered a ton of ants, trekking in a line, along the wall to the house, and seemingly disappearing into the cracks between the patio floor, and the wall. I KNOW what that means, and it wasn't even cloudy out. I grabbed the sprayer, and sprayed along the their path real good, then outside all around the patio. It stopped them.

A few hours later, it began pouring rain. It rained hard enough there was standing water in the yard. The ants were right.

After I sprayed the yard, Dh said we could go eat lunch somewhere, and I could give him his first ride in the new truck. We had a great lunch, and the first drops hit the windshield right as I parked at our house. Talk about timing!
