The Old Folks Home

My two horse vets are from Ireland-- men with pony tails. We laugh about sheep herding stories too. Complete with bending over and a ram smacking his uncle down the hill. lol I could listen to either of them all day. Love the braugh.

I rather enjoy staying home-- once a year my DH takes the kids camping and I get to stay home along for a while week, just me and the animals. Love it.
I'll bet, I just love the way the Irish talk! I have a cousin that is 30+ years older than me and she can recall my great grandparents talking with that braugh accent.
I have read some of the old stories of the folks coming to the US via Canada. My gr. gr. grandmother sewed all the family gold into her petticoat so that it would not be stolen if they got robbed on the trip. It was very heavy she said when she had to take it off to wash it. lol Can you imagine? lol

I never got any time alone at home when my kids were home. I'll bet you love having some time to yourself! I know I do now, but sometimes to much! hehehehe

Excerpt from the Article:

I wonder where at. I live in the gold country. well I know it wasn't me
I, for some reason, don't like to use things like OMG and LOL. Maybe I feel like more of a typist than a texter but I just looked at the weather forecast. OMG. We're going down to near zero a couple nights next week. I feel like a wimp since I saw this morning that Minneapolis has had 45 days below zero. 10th most on record - so far.
thats cold

Quote: Hard the first time becauseI kept listening for the kids, silence, a moment of worry, then remembered they weren't here. I go thru this step much faster now!! I do call, gotta love cell phones, to hear their voices and daily events.

I'm home alone all day, so I hear you. Would like to go to bible study next week-- meant to this week but getting the chores done in the biting cold took too long. Next week hopefully!

Quote: Saw those coins on tv each in a special case. Just beautiful- gleaming gold, newly minted -- someone will make this into a movie! Otherwise they are putting them up for sale. Some are valued at $1 mil each.

I bought some Speckled Sussex and four mystery chicks at TSC last week. I think they are so stinkin' cute!

They are very cute

ronott, I'm not sure. My friend Jenna took the picture and sent it to me. I am NOT good at photography at all.

Thanks guys, yes, they are our first Sussex.

I am very excited to see how many pullets I get.

They were straight run and I am 98% sure one is a cockerel. Full of piss and vinegar.

the other yellow chicks are mystery chicks. They are getting in white wing feathers so maybe leghorn??

Just heard the morning weather reports-- 1-2 inches of rains for my CA friends, 3-4" in the mountains. CA does everythning BIG!!

Also heard-- earlier in the week -- that someone, a businessman, wants to carve up CA in to 7 states. That makes no sense at all financially. THe need to pay 7 govenors, and 7 x the current reps and senators. . . . and he has names for each of the states already too. Holy crap. I love California just the way it is!
