The Old Folks Home

Just mowed over a ground hornet nest - they were not happy. Been mowing over them all summer, and they never reacted until today. I read somewhere that they are more defensive this time of year because next year's reproductives are in the nest. I got them before they got me.
No stings???

I've been in touch finally with a son of a first cousin in FL who most likely has lost his home totally. His mother's place is expected to be without power for 3 weeks. Another cousin in Lake City is fine. Just moss and twigs down on her lawn while some neighbors have big oaks down on top of their houses. All relatives on down farther south are all ok.

Well, that's bad for the son Larry, sorry to hear that.
