The Old Folks Home

Good morning, Old Folks! (well, "Contemporaries" seems more apt as I'm there with you)

We got a light dusting of snow earlier in the week (which melted off here in ABQ area), but we're about to get a day's worth from a northern storm front which is plummeting the State's temps. Santa Fe won't see above freezing until Wednesday or so. I think we here will see 33 degrees as our high before 41 mid-week. Sounds like it's time to light up the fireplace!

Our weather terms include graupel (a/k/a gropple) which is often referred to as "soft hail" or "hominy snow." It is neither hail which are ice nuggets nor snow which is flakes. It's like little snowballs.

It is doubtful I'll ever see jury duty as I was a courtroom stenographer for a decade or so. I've been dismissed the time or two I was called into the jury pool. Most likely I'd be too critical of attorney technique in crafting their case. There's not much new under the sun I haven't heard in a courtroom trial.

I hope everyone has a warm and cozy Sunday!

Oh, wow! I would LOVE to hear some of your stories!

Good morning Old Folks, We are wet deep mud wet.
Yup, here, too and a lot more on the way!

Grateful for the brief respites Friday and today, to get out and clean up around the coop, chicken yard and gardens before the next deluge. The girls just LOVE to dig mud holes through the deep wood chips in their run, then parade those muddy feet into the coop to cover their eggs in artistic smudges!šŸ™„šŸ˜– I keep filling the holes, adding more wood chips...but so far their digging feet and all the rain are winning.
