The Old Folks Home

Hi all. 👋 Hope your doing well. Old age. Kind of, sort of, what I expected. I just didn't expect the reality of it. 🤪
It has its moments. That's for sure. Mom lived to be 97. One of her sayings was, "Getting old isn't for sissies." I get it - now. :old

My mother lived to be nearly a 100. Had it not been for being shut in a room and not allowed out of it to visit other seniors in the nursing home she was in due to Covid we all believe she would have made it to a hundred easily. No family could get in to see here and we think she just gave up. She mowed her own yard in her 80's. I expect to be planting a garden in my 80's and they are not all that far off.

Okay so you get them who is clean them daily.
I have three I am just 64.
Mine are deep litter kept in large hoop houses. Lots of space per bird. 10 hens and a rooster in a 14x16 hoop house. They have been free ranging daylight until dark until now. Now I've got lots of garden space that can get to so until after harvest they have a run by day and a large spacious hoop house by night. In bad weather they can stay inside.

We do have to feed and water them all daily. Under two hours a day for that.
