Sunny, clear, a bit chilly. Going to get garden stuff done today. I want to plant the spinach and kale seedlings in the garden, and then use the pots for other things.

Tomorrow will be warmer, so I'll plan to get my hands more into the dirt then.

This morning not so fast had coffee.

Tired. I started building the chickees food forest this week. Not sure what I'm going to plant in it yet. Deep woodchip mulch and logs for a boundary. It needs to be designed to provide them 4 season fruit and shelter. I was thinking Nanking cherries, wild plums, marigolds, maybe nasturtium?

Strawberries are too shallow rooted, and if planted in the ground they would never make it through the woodchips.

Comfrey, maybe. A grapevine on a trellis? Are currants good for chickens?

Ideas?
