Not yet. I'm hoping to get the ball to rolling Tuesday. First I need to know costs and Copay amounts.Do you have a date for the replacement surgery yet?
A half pound of rice in a cheese cloth type bag may absorb the moisture out of the air in the container. I use the old fashion galvanized trash cans to store 50lbs at a time. With fewer birds now in a coop I may develop the same problem that you are having. If I do I'm saving empty feed bags and start filling them with about 17lbs from a new bag which would let me refill 3 bags at a time. Then I'm going to be using the feed 3 times faster with the lesser amount in the bags. I'm hoping my cans are tight enough but when I open them I'm letting new moist air in. I possibly may put feed in sealed food grade 5 gallon bucket and fill feeders that way. I must work on a viable solution as this is a Gulf Coast Problem this year and most likely many more years in the future. With all the high humidity from the rain, and the heat, it's wreaking havoc on our stored feed. We get fresh feed, and in a week, it's moldy. No, it's not expired, nor does it happen all year. I'm thinking along the lines of something like Damp Rid in the bins, without letting it touch the feed itself. Any thoughts, or solutions you may have, are welcome.
