The Old Folks Home

Same here, Sally. We took stock of what we were watching on Direct and it was almost 100 dollars for something like the 5 or 6 stations we were watching. I like science fiction (yes, I'm a Trekkie) and westerns. We both like action adventure movies and recently discovered the Mission Impossible series which we are enjoying. Buying the Roku TV gave us the Roku streaming service built in. That's enough to keep us occupied over the winter months when we can't go outside.

Speaking of which. It got down to 10 here last night with wind gusts up to 45mph so I was dealing with frozen water in the coop. Delightful and a month early.

DH got up this morning before I was up and attacked the new TV. He finally defeated it...we think. Last night it didn't want to save the local antenna stations when we programmed them in. He finally got it to save the stations...doesn't know why it decided to do it finally but glad it did.

Otherwise once we get used to the operating system I think we will like it. Which proves you can teach old dogs new tricks, lol.
Or maybe through determination, y'all taught a new dog some old tricks.:-)

Yeah, we had an account with them some time ago. Liked it, just didn't want to get a dongle to upgrade at the time due to our crappy internet service. This tv has built in Roku so we are once again enjoying it.

We read some reviews after the fact that said that it wasn't unusual for ROKU TVs to have 'glitches' that made it hard to program in antenna based stations.

Ours seems to be working at straightening up and flying right as the saying goes.
There may have been a software update overnight. Our Roku tv likes to update at 5am.

Good morning, OF. Off to a free rabies clinic with three dogs.
Free? I wish! Annual exam for 6 dogs with rabies shot if needed, parvo shot, heart worm test 181$ per dog. New vet is excellent, great table side manner with the dogs, and you can tell they really love animals so don't mind too much except paying 181$ per dog, lol.

HAPPY SATURDAY, ALL!

46 degrees here and sunshine! Doing a happy dance.:wee

NJ townships provide a free rabies shot clinic annually. TSC has periodic vaccination clinics that are generally very reasonable here.

Two weeks to the Solstice. :thumbsup

There's a bit of sunshine out there right now. We're going to get a thaw for the next few days, and downright warm (relatively) on Monday at 46. All I really need to worry about is the driveway melting enough to turn into a sheet of ice at night.
