The Old Folks Home

Did the L- lysine fix the problem permanently-- or do you need to take it regularly??

A good reason to eat a lot of meat!! lol

I take it daily. If I quit the burning returns. I take it as soon as I get out of bed in the morning since you are supposed to take on an empty stomach. I take 2 caps. I don't remember the dosage and I don't have the bottle available right now.

I can't deal with a lot of people. We always camp during the off season or on weekdays. We like going to a campground nearby so that we can check on the animals. Next to the Nolichucky river usually. DH is learning to fly fish. He's not that good at it yet but this winter he ordered books and videos and has been driving us crazy with them. With his hobbies and my new obsession with chickens we have been keeping UPS busy this year.

Awwwwwwwww! Love the chick!

Yeah I really enjoy observing the nature myself! My Bf is a great hiking companion, he'll keep a watch too and point things out for me, plus he knows a lot about the vegetation also. I'm trying to learn more about herbs and native plants myself.

It rains too much here in the winter and spring, so I only tent camp in the summer. I'm getting too old to try to get up from the ground and hate trying to get dressed while laying down. My wife prefers camping in our trailer...she likes the amenities! LOL
I hear you. If I lived in the Northwest, I'd be camping in the summer.
My wife was a great primitive camper for years. She wants a pop-up. She can buy it for the one time a year she would use it.

When hubby and I first married 18 years ago I wanted to camp old style like you guys....I grew up camping like that and loved it.

He was still active duty Marines and he said he camped enough outside and he wanted a camper. We just bought our second one last year and we love it! Now that he is disabled/retired from the Corps the sleeping on the ground wont work for him.
We have a lot of techniques to make sleeping on the ground comfortable.

Most of us around the country (or other countries) have rivers we love and are pristine. Maybe we should make a list of must see rivers in each of our states.

It's such a great pastime observing plants throughout the seasons and identifying them.

It was really cold last night! Down to 32, and supposed to be colder tonight! Boo x2 on its going down to 69! :) Though I'm still enjoying the cool, not cold mornings. I don't enjoy camping in the horrible heat either. The roommates and my BF and I are coordinating a summer camping trip to a bay in Florida. We're going as early in the summer as possible to avoid the heat, but it won't be until June until we can go. The bay were going to stay in is shady and cool, so I think we'll be ok, and if it's too hot, I'll just jump in the water! I'm really excited, it's been too long since I've seen the beach! The best part? We can walk a mile across the peninsula and go play in the waves on the beach!

If you can't go early try it late September to mid November. The weather is usually nice down there at that time.
