The Old Folks Home

i was joking because or ur rant on the evils of chickendom. Sorry about ur dad tho. Wasnt trying to hit a nerve. I dont take any meds either. I had to take oxycontin 80mg four times daily for 2 years. I told my pain management dr i wanted to get off of it. It tookalmost a yr and a half to wean me off and withdrawal symptoms were still terrible.

no worries

While I miss him, I figure he sealed his own fate following the advice of someone that is PRACTICING medicine. How does it make sense to take 20 plus daily meds?

I wonder if drs get some sort of kick back for prescribing meds. While recovering from my accident i was on oxycontin, lyrica, baclofen, coumadin, xanax, trazadone, and a few others that i cant remember off the top of my head. When i told the doc i wanted to get off of everything he seemed reluctant. Every time i go to the orthopaedic dr he tries to put me back on lyrica and tries to force a prescription of lortabs on me. Idk

Possible, but I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. Their education is about medicine not nutrition or homeopathics.
A buddy of mine is a doctor. He said, throughout his education, he never had a class on nutrition.

You'll notice the recommendations in drug commercials is to never stop taking a medication without speaking with your doctor.

I'll be 62 Monday. In the last 10 years, I've been to a doctor once when I had the flu while working out of town. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I don't think so.
