The Old Folks Home

When i was younger I just thought Tom Jones was a cliche. I would love to see him.....his voice is incredible.
I have seen Tom in Vegas mostly -but the best was Hollywood bowl. He is a great performer- I would see him again anytime. And women still throw their knickers at him

We had second row seats for Tony Bennet at the Greek Ampitheater, That old guy sang his heart out with a genuines smile you could not slap off.

I love seeing the old guys who perform because its in their hearts

I agree. I wish Dino was still around because I appreciate his voice now...no so much when I was younger....NO ONE can sing Sway like him.

Speaking of baseball, I thought my son and I were going to the new baseball village adjacent to Busch stadium on opening day (my birthday).
My wife is leaving town this morning but at dinner last night, she gave me my birthday present, 2 tickets to opening day for my son and I. St. Louis vs. Cincinnati.

She got a text this morning stating her flight from Chicago to Tokyo is delayed and she'll miss her connection by about 2 hours. I'm taking her to the airport early so she can see if they can re-route her so she doesn't need to spend a night in Tokyo while my daughter's waiting for her in Bangkok.

Oz, you have some serious chicken math issues going on.

I do too, I'm trying to sell about 25 chickens now so I have room to move.
every week I have to play musical coops to make room. I am building a temporary bamboo and thatch coop that will house 150 chicks with 2000sq foot run. That will take the pressure off til I off load the chicken mission birds.

Those 50 ft lengths of bamboo are only $1.20 each.

I hope your wife gets to BKK timely

OK, I'll try to make ya hungry without pics. Just a description.

My son made my early birthday pizza dinner at Katies.

Salad
Shaved kale, crispy pancetta (spice infused salt pork), dried bing cherries, goat cheese, vinaigrette.

Pizza
Hand tossed and wood oven fired with asparagus, artichokes, pine nuts, fontina cheese, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic reduction and fresh arugula.

Pasta
Basil tagliatelle with salume beddu diavolini sausage and butter roasted tomatoes covered with sliced parmigiano.

Dessert
Zeppole (ricotta donut holes) honey glazed served with fresh strawberries, blackberries and gelato.
Totally worked.

What a great birthday gift! Hope Mrs. CC's flights are satisfactorily rerouted. At least she has advanced warning.

Tony Bennett amazes me. A few years ago I caught part of a recorded Tom Jones concert - quite recent at the time - and was blown away. I find the ones who stick around are the ones who genuinely love to perform and have the pipes to do it.

Nice pic. Straws work too.
