The Old Folks Home

We both have Canon mine is a 40D. Mrs Oz uses a 350D We have not upgradede because they do the job

A few shared lenses fromMacro to Monster.

I use the original Canon 300D in a Ikelite housing with dual eTTL strobes for underwater, I have a couple of them for back up in case of flooding

I don't have anything as awesome to share as you guys, or as fun as chicken processing day, but... we had an absolutely lovely 64 degree day in Portland yesterday, made it all the way out to the lighthouse (jumping from rock to rock on the breakwater) plus the baby chicks hatched, and are a huge hit. The kids have already named them. Apparently PEEP AND THE BIG WIDE WORLD!!! is a huge hit for a name.

you live in a beautiful part of the world SCG

congrats on the chicks

Nice underwater shots! Yet another area I would love to get into with the photography. Those underwater cases are not cheap and then there are the scuba lessons!

Actually, this year I am mainly focusing on learning how to photograph people and working with lighting. I belong to a local photography group that is really great with sharing their knowledge. Here are a few from a couple recent mock shoots we did so I could work on both things at the same time.

The lovely young lady modeling was my son's girlfriend up until about a week or so ago. Silly boy blew it by acting like a typical 20 year old boy.

SCG I love the pics with the kids. It must have been so nice to get outside with nice weather. I know I have been climbing the walls with cabin fever waiting for the warmer temps although we have been warming up sooner than you up in Maine. I swear if I can take enough time off this fall when DD has her wedding, I want to meet up with you and hit the Maine coastline. It has been years since I was in Maine and would love to see places I grew up again with my camera.

I am seriously considering a longer lens for my bird photography. These were shot with a 70-200mm lens with a 2X extender and I was just in the right range for birding.
I have a 500mm Sigma and a 1.5 extender. It needs a heavy tripod and a remote shutter release but great for this application.

the lighting is amazing in these pics

Wow Oz! That African trip looks amazing! What great shots. Thanks for introducing us a little more to Mrs. Oz, she's quite the pretty lady. It looks like y'all have much fun together! You found yourself quite the adventurous woman! Congrats! I agree with Tara, I think you definitely found your soul mate, what a great woman to build Coco Beach with!.I too second how great it is that you guys adopted, those kids are living the good life thanks to you two and your hard work and dedication to make them yours!
