The Old Folks Home

I am exhausted.

We got the goat house built. It still needs to be shingled (we have a tarp for the top to protect the tar paper until spring), plus we need a door (that's glaringly obvious but better than their other 3 sided shelter), and we need to move the hay feeder and water hanger. Otherwise, a good paint job and she'll be good to go.

And I got one of the 2 capes done (with exception of the "A" on the back). One purple kids' superhero cape, modeled on a very tired human adult.

This is for the guy that helped you build that great looking Goat House! (and hoping you never make him sleep in it)

SCG-- AWESOME CAPE!!!!!! Looks GREAT!!! ANd the goat barn is very cute with the fence around it.

Cynthia--I hope you don't mind I saved a copy of that photo, rooster sprinting across the plank bridge. Came at a good time. Seems like God has a way of showing me the way when I am stumbling down the wrong path.

God is like that, not just sometimes, but most of the time. If we are paying attention, right? Good for you.

SCG - Wow! You amaze me! I am having a hard time keeping up with the things that have to be done in the house this time of year, you are completeing all these projects! I love the whole goat compound and the cape looks great! What is the "A" for?

A for Angel, E for Ethan (when I get around to his). I thought it would be neat if they had their initial on the back, but I am far from "cool" so maybe I shouldn't do it?

SCG.. I want, just a smidgen of your energy girl! Nice, both the goat barn and the cape!

I'm not sure it's energy but we sure do have a guilt thing going on. It's what motivates us. And just in time, too. We got about 6 to 8 inches of snow - starting last night and still snowing. The stupid goats were huddled in their tiny 3 sided shelter this morning, but they smartened up at some point before I came home from work and I found them in the new house.

Looks just like him, next to the fence! He's a good guy so I don't think I'll ever make him sleep in the goat house. I do tell him often that he should go and find a better woman than me (because he deserves it) but he hasn't smartened up yet. Not that I want him to go, but I want him to be happy. Apparently happiness to him is a full time job, a full time gentleman's farm, and a "hobby" of woodworking and building random things around the homestead. I'll lay off him for a few months. I do want another cold frame though for April. :)

SCG -- Well, if he gets bored at your place, I could keep him busy with projects long enough to make him appreciate being there! BTW - are you going to participate with the Easter Hatch - a - thon? Help? Host? It won't be long........

Most likely I will not help or host. Still unsure about hatching. I know I need to get my butt in hatching gear so I have plenty of roosters to fill the freezer with, but I'm just not in the mood. Too many other things pulling me to be able to add hatching onto it right now.
