This is almost exactly what I have except for the club foot it can't stand.

Both.  Some days are jelly days, and others are jam days. 

It is peanut butter and apple butter on toast. In my youth it was peanut butter and homemade blackberry jelly.

I'm guessing this is a new one for you old timers.
As you may know I've been hatching a lot of chicks.
I know a lot of people rescue chicks that don't hatch on their own but in my experience they don't do well.
I helped 3 chicks yesterday. One died immediately, one isn't doing too badly but has a bit of a club foot. The third has been floundering on its back. I gave it some water and a dose of vitamins and noticed something strange.
It has a 6 toed full sized, non-functioning foot growing from its tail and another protrusion further up the spine. '
I was going to take pictures and put it down but I called the vet school to see if they wanted to have it.
They're supposed to call me later tonight.
Other than foundering on its back it seems quite healthy and full of vim and vigor.

Sounds like an absorbed twin.

IDK, can that happen with a single yolk?

If there's an abnormality with the initial cell split, sure. Or it could've been two small yolks stuck together when thrown forth from the ovary, fertilized, wrapped in egg white and then perhaps the joining cell wall had a schism which caused one to be absorbed by the other.

In any event, you've got an unusual one!

I was just having a mini-whine that the timing of the rain could have been a little better ... but I know I live in a wonderful place and probably should not even mini-whine. Some of us just do not know when we are on a good thing!
