All right, I'm up already, quitcher yellin'.

Been out seeing to the furred and feathered dependents. Temps in the upper 30's - low 40's, 10 -15 mph wind. Not bitter by any standard, but enough to get the ol' eyes open. Yep, still winter here. But for those who are dealing with snow along with the cold - this bud's for you!

THe spring flowers!! Crocus are my favorites-- they herald the end of winter; then the daffodils pop up next!! WHat a beautiful sight!!

Thank you for the Spring pictures. Out here in Northern CA the white daffodils are blooming. The Almond and Plum trees will be blooming in a week or so. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this year and I will have a lot of plums. I will take a picture of the tree when it blooms.

Nothing like fresh fruit off the trees-- I love the peaches! THe plums have never produced well here to eat any, but I'm hopeful every year! ANd the pears are a long wait until the end of summer. .

I wonder if they need to be sprayed or something??

Ha! I love this! Why do you need to have the coffee spiked to feel like this? That's great! We love you too..you rock too..now, everyone is showing off pictures of flowers? What? Just think, for those of you with 2 ft. of snow surrounding your boots as you go out to your chickens or animals, next month, you can say..next month..is March.

Here are the flowers I'm waiting on to pop up.. I love tulips, hope I have a picture of those, but I love my Peonies too!

Can't find a picture of my tulips, guess I will have to wait until they come up, which
is usually later than other folks, because my house faces the north. Which is nice in
the summer. The winter? Not so much. Here's a picture of my front after a snow storm.

This was just taken a couple of weeks ago. Pretty, but a lot of work.

Well, the back was just as bad, but when it starts melting, the back goes pretty quick
The front we have to shovel the snow off of the lawn, that we threw snow on while shoveling.

I'm with Bunny.........So many years of working nights and I can't get up still, Wanna know how bad I am? Grand daughter called yesterday to see if I'd watch the new great grandbaby. I swear, just thinking about it, my back started to heat up and I felt like it was on fire. Bend to pick up a crying baby?.........umm.......no..........Bend and change a diaper.........ummmmm....no. Then I thought, come on, she's gotta go to classes. Don't want any college drop outs. Then I asked how long her day was today. 10am to 4pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No no no. I have feeders to fill today, a roost to make and pups to worm. Not that I don't want to be helpful, but when you earn the Great grandmother position, I've decided it means, you hold them only while their cute and not crying and dry and then you hand them back. My husband told my youngest daughter to bring us her daughter when she was 10 months old. She just turned 7 on NYE. I know how this works!!!!

I raised my kids, it's time to play with the chickens. I did dogs shows for just over 40 years and I always had several dogs at home and now none of them have a dog. Oh and during Christmas it was mentioned that I should open another daycare. Not without help! Then the chickens were brought up. "If you got rid of the chickens, you'd have even more room for kids and besides, you don't want kids getting chicken poop on them." I just looked at them and said "I made sure you were all gone before I got my chickens again. Their more fun to watch. Your blood pressure goes down, not up." They're all looking for a sitter even though they have great ones. My 3rd daughter moved back to where I lived for 30 years in the Bay Area and said she'd find a place near her. MY exSIL has a little girl that I watch occassionally and he just moved back to the Bay Area too. They think I need to go back home. NOPE! That places has grown to much and you can't have chickens! Nice try. Even though Makayla is now going out there during the week for school, I've got her when she's off, so I'm good. I need to be out back today and I'm going to watch my birdies act like nuts and follow me around when I'm just carrying a bucket of coop supplies. They may jump in the buckets and talk to me, but at least when I say no, they don't have a comeback for me. I need to find a way to use my free flights and go somewhere. Think anyone would take care of my animals??? NO! Been there done that. Three days and no one stopped to even check on them. I'm good.

My family rant for the day.

Went out this morning and found one of my little white lops, up on the rabbit cages clear across the yard. He had to get up pretty high and I have no idea how he did it, but he was visiting my little white Lionhead buck. Got back to his cage and I must have left it open yesterday.

Then I find another little buck in HIS cage. I have to close in the waterer opening and make sure he doesn't get back through. I'm surprised he didn't follow the lop out. He just stayed and ate his feed. I know he finished his own, but I guess he was extra hungry yesterday. OK, time to do feeders, fix a cage and finish the roost. I might even see if I can oen the dryer up. Probably not, but it's good to even think I might be able to now. hehe

What do you use for ice? Or you don't use ice?

Nope only in summer when it's *so hot* (read: 80s) I suck on ice. That's like maybe 3 days out of the year.

Unfortunately my eggs are still in Mass. It's going to be negative 6 tonight with windchills to -20.
