I cant say its propaganda.... The internet has a Viral way of spreading information from a single source as being gospel.... Old data has away of working into the equation as well.

The deal is Read Read read if it sounds awful but plausible read some more... verify when ever you can.... The urban Legend websites are a very good source for rumor mitigation.

And you are talking to someone who Listens to Coast to Coast and Truly believes many things discussed there.... But I have verified and had personal experience... I don't believe them all hook line and sinker.

Amen. We must all retain the ability to think, analyze and verify information for ourselves. Too many folks are now relying on things like Facebook to do their thinking for them. We sadly are becoming a mentally lazy nation.

Well said.

Mom and I were dumpster divers in a past life.... OMG the things we came home with... ranging from old couches (mom did home done appolstery) To building supplies like wood and doors and old above ground swimming pool walls.

Even when my son was born I was always parusing the neighbors "trash" Got several toys for him ... Like a Cozy coupe and one of those cars you drive by pusing and pulling hand holds....

It had a broken wheel and some brackets that needed to replace. Mom called the manufacturer which I believe was little tykes. Told them what she needed and they sent all the parts no charge All we had to do was remove the old put on the new and the races were ON. LOL. I think we sold it at a garage sale for 25 bucks when he grew out of it.

I have dug up Carpet and Railroad ties..... Those were from a fellow down the street he had a few things out for free and I chatted him up... Told him I was raising chickens.... He said Wait a minute... Could you use some rail road ties.... I nodded rapidly.... He came out with five or six six by sixes pressure treated and they were about eight feet long. Then he came out with two or three rolls of Chicken wire.... Yep I use chicken wire.... The beefy kind that was sixteen gauge. Kind of wadded in places but easy to fix.... then he came out with about ten Tposts... My truck was full when I left. He was a gardener but his wife decided she didnt want all that stuff in the back yard any more....

Oh and when I moved up to my house we packed FIVE single car garage doors..... Again chatting someone up....LOL.

Reduce reuse etc.....

Man, I am a scrounger because I can NOT afford to buy new material. So yes, behind our garage we have mostly sorted piles of fence, tools, wood, roofing, metal stuff, etc. etc.

No way I could have shelled out for materials.

I think wind turbines are an excellent way to cull for smarter birds

Speaking of construction projects, we have a big one starting here tomorrow. DH had scrapped together a ramp to get me out of the house and to my doctor appointment on Wednesday. Even with a large, strong neighbor helping, it was a very scary adventure for all. DH had totally missed the incline thing and we all went SLIDING down! Me, the chair and two large men!!! Hubby, finally agreed to let me call his friend the carpenter (who had finished building his beautiful, two story, retirement home completely by himself) who retired up here not too far from us last summer. They did the figuring and came up with a supply list and hubby is now at the big home improvement/hardware store (Menard's) in the city with the trailer destroying what was left in the emergency savings account so construction can begin tomorrow. The decision was made that we might just as well go with a permanent ramp, since doing it right (and safely) requires some sturdy construction anyway. By Monday I will be able to actually get to the yard again!!! YEA!!!

Doc has me grounded from any weight on my leg for at least another month. Then MAYBE, if the 2nd surgery isn't needed I will get a walking cast to use with crutches, geesh. Anyway, it will be cold and possibly snow by then so these next few weeks are my last chance to actually get outside and enjoy it.

The very best decision you could make. We had to pay $4,000 to build ours but we have even moved the house and brought it with us. I'm not doing any type of stairs ever and need it and my SIL has CP and a lopsided steel rod in his leg that they failed to surgically remove. He's 46 and will be in a chair in a few years. Me too probably. Right now I have a wheeled buggy that I can walk along and sit down it I need. I like it because it lets me go places like flea markets now. Makes it easier to get to the chickens. Since the knee went out a few months ago I use it daily.

@ronott1 Ron, the sourdough mix came in today. Hooray. Thanks so much for setting it up for me.
