The Old Folks Home

You're talking about for human brews? A simple answer would be to replace about half of the molasses (as if you're making AEM) with frozen/concentrated juice, grape juice is one of my favorites. Or make the recipe as normal and add a cup of powdered turmeric to the brew. I brew these at about 100F for 2-3 months. It might work in a simply "warm place", but I haven't tried it. Since it takes so long (and I've had some go bad), I usually only use the straight EM culture, not AEM. If you're really interested, PM me and I will see if I can round up some more specific recipes for you.
Ahhh, never mind. I'll stick with my kombucha.

Quick, easy and CHEAP. pdirt, I did promise to send you some of my milk grains for my kefir but the batch was so puny that eventually I had to throw it out. I'll get more later but right now I'm okay with kombucha.

Lol
I am from BC

if you can find it it's a must try bama.
The United States has not allowed Farmers to grow hemp until recently. one of the first crops was grown in Colorado I think last year. The article I read said they did not know what to do, especially the harvesting part.

It is a great fiber too. Hopefully we will be able to get more access to hemp products as it is allowed to be planted.

I am at the "wet" market in kabankalan. It's an experience all should have.. There is a rice trader to my right. We bought a 50kg sack of rice for 1800 pesos. That's about 38cents per pound. In the Philippines that's very cheap.

The country imports rice. There are some good varieties here but Thailand has better rices.

Its the bits that are left behind from brown, or whole grain rice that we feed our chickens - rice bran.
I really like the rice bran. It has Vitamin E and I'm going to start putting selenium in it to help them immensely. It's just a portion of my feed right now. But the benefits are great.

Hemp is pretty amazing. I'm glad people are learning the difference and utilizing it with less resistance and miss education. The laws around hemp farming are a bit nutty in Canada... Not within x kilometres of people under the age of 18, not within x kilometres of a school... At least that's what it was like last time I read anything about it.

Now I moment of compliant....
It's raining and cold and I need to get stuff done outside, but do not feel like getting soaked. Arg.....:(
Perhaps tomorrow
Maybe I'll bake instead.... Bread or somthing.

I will bake some bread this weekend too. I will need to get it done early in the day though--going up to the mid to upper 90s this weekend.

BTW I've had 3 "Guaranteed to keep you dry- for extreme wet weather " Gore-Tex rain parkas and all three leaked at the shoulders.(bought from Lands end. They also were supposed to be breathable but, not even close. Got a similar product from LLBean and it felt like I was wearing a plastic tablecloth - had pit zips and everything but, ended up wetter (perspiration) on the inside, and very crackly noisy

I usually just tough it out since I am pre-shrunk anyway.

First thing to do when buying a gore tex garment, is to stand in the shower for 15 minutes with it. If it leaks, go to the store, tell you did that and tell them you ant a new one. With shoes or gloves, submerge them in water. Gore gives a nice guarantee on their products, and if they can't withstand that, they are faulty. I bought a pair of Gore combat boots a couple months ago, just last weekend I spent 4 hours walking through swamps with them - my socks were completely dry afterwards, even walking through water they were breathable enough to transfer moisture generated by my body out.
