Good luck!Nothing to do with anything anyone is talking about... But I have a phone interview ( sort of ) about my business plan happening in an hour.... And I'm getting nervous! Ahhh! This women could hook me up with funding ( best case ) or tell me I'm nuts ( worst case )![]()
I didn't drive because my mom never drove - I'm sure I inherited it from her. My aunts didn't drive either . I guess in that era the husbands schlepped them around and they were passengers. We were two blocks from one major bus route, and half a block from another. My mom never used the bus. I do recall once in a blue moon, riding in a cab to the doctor. Otherwise her brother drove us. When I was 12 an uncle gave us his '47 chevy - my dad was a self taught driver - we were white knuckle passengers - it worked out okay. They didn't have seat belts in the day, my aunt used to hold me on her lap in the front seat. Luckily no mishaps, I would have been her airbag and I was a tiny, scrawny thing.
Much later we found out my mom had panic attacks and agoraphobia and so did I, so that probably caused a lot of "not doing" thing.

Liver casserole is pretty tasty, I usually buy it ready made but here's a recipe off of the internet:
1 pound liver
1 egg
4 tbsp sugarbeet syrup
3/4 cups rinsed rasins
1 tbsp salt
1/4 tsp allspice
Porridge:
1 cup porridge rice
1 cup water
5 cups milk
To be fried in a pan:
2 tbsp butter
½ onion
Prepare the porridge, fry the onions, combine everything in oven safe buttered deep pans, cook at 320F for about 1½ hours.
No idea how this recipe turns out, I'm perfectly happy with the store bought version. You're supposed to eat this with lingonberry jam or crushed lingonberries, and a bit of butter.
East Texas by the La border. Ah, La politics. Home of Huey P Long. That says it all.It has been a long time since I've been there but I feel your pain. That's some crazy traffic. The only time it's like that here is with an accident, not just raw volume. I experienced that in LA many years ago. Other places that have insane volume related gridlock today are Chicago, Washington DC and Atlanta. Those and LA are the worst I've experienced. Literally hours to drive across town on an interstate. I couldn't live there. My brother moved to a small SW MO town about 25 years ago. He had serious rush hour traffic getting to work at Emerson Electric in St. L. before he left. Perhaps 40 minutes to go 15 miles. Many years later I rode to his job with him in Carthage, MO. On the way back there was a car in front of us. He was being serious when he proclaimed that he hated driving in rush hour. ONE CAR!!!!! How soon we forget.

10 times as many stops in Tennessee on the side of the highway where the money is heading back to Mexico as the side of the highway with the drugs coming from Mexico.

I've frequently carried large amounts of cash. I bought 8 vehicles on E-Bay, flew there, paid for the car and drove it home. Those were in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington D.C. and outstate Missouri.
I didn't know law enforcement could have stolen my money. Scary.
