The Old Folks Home

When i was younger i worked for a landscaping company. I was using a string trimmer along a fence and hank williams jr pulled up beside me and handed me the best cold beer ive ever had. I was so nervous. I say hi how are u mr. Williams. He said "fine how bout u". For some strange reason i said "how are u doing" again. He chuckled and said "still fine".

OMG Dude.... hanging with Music stars... LOL... amazing to find out they are Peeps just like the rest of us.

Or why the windows open up and down on the east coast and from side to side on the west coast.

The doors I know.. Inwards to most exterior doors is a building code deal. Doors that go out from a patio room open outwards.... or a fire door towards the garage.

I can imagine if snow built up against a door over night it would be difficult to push it open if it opened out....

Most of the codes are written for fire codes.... But I know the sliding windows are pretty standard throughout the US.

My house has both up and down windows and side to side windows. Schizophrenic house builders?

I was working second shift in savannah georgia. It was during the winter but decided i wanted to go see the atlantic ocean for my 1st time. I headed to tybee island and went for a walk on the beach. 2 big pitt bulls started running at me so i went into the ocean about waist deep. A couple came running and called their dogs back. It was sandra bullock and jesse james.

You kidding me??? Other people love "The Highwayman?" that is the first cut on my favorite songs CD my son burned for me. I love, love, love that song. Love Willie period, and the other guys too.

Looking good. Next time, you might want to do the paneling first and then just cut out openings for windows and whatnots. Also, making a spacer to cut the shingles against makes it quicker as you don't need to measure them individually. And if you're going to paint the window trim a different color than the shingles, take the trim off and paint it before attaching it. Saves you a heck of a lot of patience consuming work.

By the way, does anyone know why so many windows in the states are that slide open model that you can only open half the window with? I've always wondered about that. And also, why do most doors open inwards in the States?

I thought that doors opened inward so that the hinges would be on the inside of the house.... Otherwise people could just pop up the hinges, take the door off, and walk in your house, easy peasy. However, the storm door thing is also true.... You need a storm door on the "weather side" of the house.

As to windows.... Yep, less hardware in a slider. The crank ones need a working crank......... That sounds like a simple thing, but it is a royal pain if it doesn't work. Also, depending on where the window is, sometimes you can't have a crank one, like if the window would open onto your outside pathway, or into a snow berm. Though, in freezing weather, sliders will NOT open.

I have seen a few stars..back in the 70's when I went skiing. Think I already mentioned this..but would see Robert Redford and the Osmonds all the time ups at Sundance. And, like I said, that Robert sure is short.

Most sources say that he's 5' 10," which is average for a white American male. Maybe it's just that he's so much larger-than-life onscreen, people are shocked that he isn't in person?
