The Old Folks Home

This is a week full of craziness. Anniversary is tomorrow. Also if tsc has the breeds they are supposed to I'll be getting baby chicks tomorrow. Valentines Thursday and Saturday and Sunday mad coop building rush. Also have to start buying wedding stuff this week.

So I jokingly told fiance we had to make a pitstop on the way to honeymoon. He said where? I replied the moulton chicken festival. He said Uh- huh. Me- so is that a yes? Him yes but we're not staying all day. Aww I love him but of course I won't make him suffer through that.

I don't see why not, that would be a great story! "We spent the first day of our honeymoon at a chicken festival in Moulton." Too Funny!

My funny honeymoon story is that as we were packing up to leave the chalet in the mountains, a cat slipped into the trunk of our car. We found the poor girl when we stopped at a riverside park 30 minutes away. She was lieing on our wedding clothes, having kittens! They had rolled off the clothes and into the spare tire well and were cold. I put them under my shirt, next to my skin and made my DH drive all the way back to find the cat's owner. All the kittens lived and we had to throw my DH's white shirt away!

Well gry turns out Elle and Gloria are not tiara wearing divas but I did find a willing participant

Awesome story! I'm surprised you found the owners.

Fam - Welcome to BYC and 'The Old Folks Home', pull up a rocker and sit a spell.....

SCG - That story starts when we arrived at the Chalet and the cat was there to greet us. I sat on the porch with it in my lap for an hour just before dark. As the sun set, it got too cold and I went inside, the cat paced the porch looking in the windows and yowling all night! I wanted to let it in but DH said no (we had been warned more than once that there was a strict no pets policy and that violation meant eviction with no refund.)

When we were loading the car to leave, the cat was weaving in and out of my ankles the whole time. We would have arrived back home (5 hours away) to dead kittens and possibly a dead momma cat, if I hadn't decided to commit a federal offense

and take an 80 lb rock home as a souvenir! DH was so mad that I wanted him to carry that rock up a hill to the car and it was when we opened the trunk that we found the cat.

There were only about 4 houses on that side of the mountain and the closest one was where the cat lived.

SCG - There were only a few houses on that side of the mountain, and the closest one to where we stayed was where the cat belonged. It was obvious the cat was a pet, it rubbed on my legs constantly when I was outside.

The funny thing was, we left the mountain and drove 30 - 40 minutes to a park. We parked on the side of the road and climbed down a dirt path to a mountain river to take pics. There were three Canada geese there and they would eat out of your hand! Anyway, I decided to commit a federal offense and take a huge rock home as a souvenir. DH was none too happy that I wanted him to carry that 80+lb rock up that steep dirt hill! If I had given in when he protested, we would have arrived back home (5 hours later) to dead cats in the trunk!

ETA - Opps! I thought I had lost that first one, sorry!
