The Old Folks Home

Goodness.... I'm away for 24 hours and there's close to 200 posts!

Where does one get oregano oil? I like the idea of it. At our house we do Source Naturals Wellness Formula daily and haven't been truly sick for years....but every little bit helps!

Deb...
LOL'ed about somebody dropping a kitten into the Trick-or-Treat bag. Genius! Might be a way to get rid of extra zucchini and eggplant, if they were in season. (Of course, it might also be a way to get a lot of zucchini and eggplant thrown at your house, too.)

TGIF = Tequila Goes In First. Yeah, potent stuff. My sister used to host a Cinqo de Mayo party that she could never attend the end of because she literally crawled up the stairs to sleep it off. One year the police showed up three times as the more tequila that's consumed the louder the volume gets. Ahhh, but good sipping tequila... I'm there with you on that one. Mescal, too. There's rocket fuel and smooth sippers.

Happy Halloween to all! Hope it's spooktacular! We're going trick-or-treating with the grandkids 5 and 3, respectively. The 3 y.o. is nearly as tall as the 5 y.o....she's got a future in women's sports, for sure. Bruiser of a kid, too. This year they're a unicorn and Minnie Mouse.

Boo!!

I ordered mine from a place on line that sells essential Oils. It works really well to make ticks leave and so does tea Tree Oil. GNC and Vitamin Shoppe probably has it,

It is easy really.

Use a grower or flock raiser feed--even a game bird type of feed. 18 to 20 percent is good
add a supplement like calf manna
provide free choice calcium
walmart and some discount stores sell kale in big bags. give the breeders some of the kale each day
Black oil sunflower seeds, a cup scattered on the ground each day

And of course make sure they do not have parasites.

You can just use the flock raiser and free choice calcium. Fermenting the feed actually does a bunch of the pro biotic stuff so you may not need the calf manna if using it.

For those in a moderate climate, kale is one of the most cold hardy vegetables. It will survive hard freezes.

Wow I couldn't have planned it better, moving the older flock during the moult seems to have some benefits.... They weren't laying eggs anyway so the shock of the move isn't costing me my egg supply! Which is zero now that marshmallow is gone.... Out of 15 females I'm getting nothing :(
They better pick up before the hatch along

No I didn't mess with their food they were just switched to FF so one change at a time. Once this feed is done ill up the protein they will probably just be ending their moult by the time the food is gone. Think I'll give them my leftover hemp seeds today... There's a nice vitamin and protein boost.
