The Old Folks Home

Oh no Karin will need to get herself ready to go shopping with us. V is a great cook but can he shop?

Karin is great at shopping as long as it's some sort of outdoor gear. I have to drag her to stores unless I want to listen to "I have nothing to wear" 15 minutes we're supposed to go somewhere (that doesn't require Gore Tex attire).

I'd be a great shopper, if only I had the monetary means...

You should buy her clothes for her (but NOT for gifts!)

I am the same way, HATE to clothes shop, they never look right on me anyway. My mom would always buy clothes for me and I would love what she bought. I would take back what I couldn't use, which wasn't much. I never figured out how she did that. I still can't buy clothes, I hate to even try.

Keep in mind that she likes comfort and to be able to move in them, colors she likes, and it sounds like she would go more conservative/elegant than ultra-feminine/sexy.

I do need a new winter jacket, boots, a nice new cashmere, wool dress coat and boots for that. Oh and some new gloves to match. And some new mittens too. Maybe throw in a couple of scarves. The monetary stuff is on the jet.;)

Wisher, I think you have the wrong idea of me... Karin is not some weak feeble woman that needs to be rescued by Captainesse Feminista, she is very much an independent woman, and if you want traditional gender labels, in our relationship most of them would be the other way around. I do joke at her expense, but it's out of love. And I get my fair share as well.

And when I say that Karin would need some normal clothes, I'm serious. I think about 90% of her pants have at one point been covered in either blood or manure. I don't think it's too much to ask that a person would have a pair of jeans that are kept free of varying animal discharge. I'm not saying that she needs to walk around in a little black dress (although I admit I like seeing her in one), I'm happy with a pair of clean jeans and a cardigan.

I think I'd like Karin... That sounds a lot like my clothing... Although she likely gets paid for being covered in animal excrement. I also despise shopping...
Whispers your on you own for shopping... Unless we go to a pet store :D

I don't think I have the wrong idea. I am also strong and independent, and I have no problem with my DH doing the laundry and some cooking now and then. All I was saying is that many women don't like to clothes shop and she might appreciate you picking those things up for her so there is not a mad rush when it is time to go. Maybe you could have them put away somewhere and surprise her with them when the time is right. I would even suggest you buy that little black dress and some heels to go with it. I'm sure she would put it on for you..........

Just remember it is not a good gift for a gift-giving occasion, unless it's YOUR birthday.

I'm only "clean" from the moment I get dressed, until I step out the door (and sometimes not even that long). But I prefer to see the kids' teachers in something that doesn't look like the dog gave birth on it. Repeatedly.

But the thought of Critter doing the clothes shopping? No. Just . . . . no.
