The Old Folks Home

I use one cool tube and one warm white or one Gro lux wide sprectrum tube ( 48" - T 12's) over my blooming house plants (streptocarpus) had to cut down to 10 hrs. a day - used to be 12 hrs.(they bloomed much better) but, can't afford the electric bill

Love growing indoors, no rain, no snow, no wind, no cloudy days and NO weeds to pull and colorful blooms when winter is at it's worst.

Retweet!

I think that's just a attitude difference where we are in the south. Most of the stuff that went on last night and is going on tonight just would not fly here.
American riots are not sustained by the original cause but by opportunists using the protest as a cover to loot.

It taks cities of sufficient size to propogate such.

Okay Vehve, so how do you use that thing? With skis or do you have to put a board across to stand on? Just curious. : )

You stand on those slightly wider black areas. This thing is really meant to just be kicked forward on snow or ice, but it works with dogs pulling too. Around here, a lot of elderly people use these in the winter instead of rollators, but you can also get up to about 25mph on even ground if you're in good (great) shape.

Here the big issue at the moment is the upcoming vote on equal marriage rights. Karin told me yesterday what her boss's daughter had asked her mother; "Mom, can I skip school on Friday to attend the demonstration?" I think that's pretty cool.

I also like what the archbishop of the Finnish church had to say about the matter: "It's not a matter of opinion, it a matter of basic human rights that stem from Christianity". He also stated that however the parliament votes, rainbow couples and families must be supported. I was a bit surprised about that statement, because I have been brought up with a pretty skeptical view of religion. My fathers grandparents were almost fanatic about their religion, which lead my father to grow up with strong anti-religious views. Some of that has simmered through to me too. I'm not actively against religion, but I do consider myself to be agnostic.

streptocarpus grow wild with filtered light at the base of trees etc. They would burn with high intensity bulbs. Streps are related to African violets but don't look at all like them.
