The Old Folks Home

The Silkie and Show-Girl genetics might prove to be interesting and fun to play with, and I might consider it, except I only raise chickens.

Re: tree hugger. One who loves trees and grows and removes trees responsibly.
I plant as many trees as I can and hate to see them removed unnecessarily or planted where when at their peak they would need to be removed because they're too close to structures. If we need to remove a treeitsr what ever reason I like to plant 2 or 3 somewhere to replace them. A full grown deciduous tree can supply enough oxygen for 2 people. A young tree's cooling effect is equivalent to 10 room air conditioners and can cut cooling costs by 30%. A tree can remove 48 pounds of carbon dioxide a year and by the time it's 40 years old will have removed 1 ton.
They add to the nutrients of the earth, take up to 100 gallons of water per day and put it right back into the atmosphere. Trees reduce storm water run off, help keep earth in place to reduce erosion. So much more trees do that many people don't realize. Here's a link for more infohttp://www.americanforests.org/discover-forests/tree-facts/

Ok schools over. :D
