The Old Folks Home

I put a cup of water in my microwave this morning to heat the water to make tea. When it dinged, the water was cold. Did it again, with the same results. I opened the door, and it started up. I reached in to grab the cup, knowing the diode wasn't working, however, it WAS working fine. Close door = nothing. Open door = works fine. Unplugged, and began searching for a Sharp microwave in one of the local stores. Headed to Sears, got microwave, brought it home, opened the box, and it was a mess. Took it back to Sears immediately. Someone forgot to mark it as a return. That was the only one they had, so they credited my debit card. Went to HH Gregg, and they had a much nicer selection, and better deals, so I got one. It's GREAT! Dh called, and the overdraft thing from savings kicked in. I have the receipt where Sears credited my account, but the bank didn't get the memo. I'll see what transpires between now, and Monday on the bank account. It's all good, as long as Sears credits it back into the account. Anyway, I love the new microwave!

getaclue, always check ALL purchases, especially if there is a ding in the box, I've been burned a couple times and now I always look inside...
I also buy damaged goods, great bargains, delivery boy scrapes the paint off our clothes washer on delivery,,gotta call my boss,, you save a hundred dollars if you still want it,, HELL YEAH! no one will ever see it anyways, same with our dish washer.. scrape in the front, heck I have five kids won't take long before they do worse Lol!
Best computers we have ever purchased was refurbished ones from Sears, $1,500 laptops for $300, lasted for around five yrs. Thought we'd buy a new one this time around and bought the cheapest HP with a CD reader and burner from WalMart, I think it was $300. Piece of crap!, We hate it! Isn't even comparable to our eight to ten year old high end refurbished models. Made a big mistake! Slow, and skips letters when you type, all sorts of problems I cant even explain in a couple paragraphs. We hate it! Unless I'm watching Netflix or Hulu plus I'd rather surf the net on my cheap tracphone, Samsung Centura. That's pretty sad. In my opinion buy high end expensive computers even if you have to buy refurbished ones to afford it, and it will solve all your BS internet problems.

Update on my new HP, I can't even click x OFF THIS SITE so I can watch a movie! It's cap! cap? I spelled CRAP! Just please let me go to Netflix to see what's on! I'll try for a few more more minutes and shut it down!
Edited to say, I shut it off, so I can get this site off.

I bought some "naughty" pepper seed off ebay ( $ 2.00 for 25 seeds) - these are the guys someone earlier posted photos of - a NOVELTY hot pepper. I've never grown HOT peppers. Got no info on how tall they grow or how long till maturity etc. Want to grow plants for a couple neighbors so they can be surprised. The guy next door is a great gardener so if I can grow young plants I know they'll do fine for him. And one of the senior bus drivers loves hot peppers and grows several varieties. He wins at local chilli contests . I just hope they will germinate for me etc. I was game because the seeds were cheap. I'm not a veggie eater but, thought it would be fun & funny.

Has anyone successfully grown any of them???

In the Philppines they open the box of the item you are buying, after you paid for it, and show you that its working, then rebox it. This even includes light bulbs.

Surfing the internet is one of the least power consuming things a PC does. My guess is your cheap HP has just a small amount of RAM. Easily remedied.

Do a windows experience test. In win 7 hit start. right click computer then click properties. click link to windows experience and look at scores

I haven't grown those ones specifically, but I have grown tomatoes and peppers.

They grow ... uh.... standard. Light and water needed, after sticking seed in a pot full of dirt.

I like to stick seeds in a dirt they sell up here, which has lots of fish compost in it....

peppers need more heat than most though.. even more than tomatoes

I've successfully grown peppers. Took a couple years to get it right in my climate. Pepper seeds are some of the first seeds I start usually in mid to late March. When I start most seeds I don't throw them in soil. I get a damp paper towel, place seeds on it, wrap it up, stick it in a ziploc bag and throw it somewhere warm. I check it every other day and add a few drops of water if needed to keep the towel damp. When the seeds start to sprout I'll take them out and put them in dirt and label them then. This way I don't waste plastic seedling cups on things that may not sprout.
Then they go onto a heated mat in my little indoor grow house for about 6 weeks.
When I can't raise the lights any higher they go outside during the day to the cold frame, and then come inside at night.
They get planted outside (whether in a raised bed, pot or ground) when the weather allows, usually late May to early June. Then after that all they get is a lot of sun and water as needed when nature doesn't provide.
So, they are easy to grow, but they take a long time... at least in this climate. Assuming yours is similar.
Granted, you don't need a grow house or a cold frame, but they do help. Perhaps you have a window with good sunlight? Or two and move it back and forth during the day until it can go out? My cat destroys plants so most don't go in the house where she can reach them (although she will likely pass this year before that's a problem)
