The Old Folks Home

I love those kinds of dishes vehve, could you post a recipe?

Wisher, when I get feeling like that, I up my protien some, cut back on carbs, especially white flour and white sugar, and the very best results come when I take a teaspoon of ACV in 8 oz of water. I drink in the middle of lunch usually so I already have some food in my stomach and more after for it to mix with. That seems to help with the acid. Also B12 is good but may give "hot flashes". Also some magnesium supplement. I don't take supplements everyday because I usually eat a balance diet, but when I don't I tend to get tired easy and need a boost. One other thing I do is make sure I get morning daylight. It sets my whole day for me. Hope you feel back to your normal self soon!

DK where do you get a dishwashing fairy? I used to be the "do it all" fairy when married to my ex but not a fairy any more. Garden fairy, Christmas fairy, Cleaning Fairy, etc...

I had to laugh at DSO we were at Sears the other day and the appliances are right by the door. While he looked at tools I checked out refrigerators and 2 salespeople tried to sell me something. When I said I was just looking, one asked if he couldn't convince me I should get it today. I said I wasn't the one who needed convincing, (and the remodling isn't done yet). On the way out we stopped to look at the dishwashers, the same salesman says "So this is the one who needs convincing" DSO says " I already have a dishwasher...I replied...I don't"

Wisher I do recommend the exercise to help get your pep up. It not only helps you feel more energized but also helps your mental state. I was feeling very draggy and cranky recently so I started exercising in the morning before work. I get on the treadmill for 1/2 hour and walk a little over two miles almost every weekday. It helps me keep the extra few pounds off (part of my crankiness) and definitely improves my mood most days. I would also recommend a full "soup to nuts" physical if you haven't had one in a while just to be sure nothing else is going on.

Okay, Old Folks, I need some advice. I need some strategies for increasing my energy level, quickly. I have gotten to where even the chicken chores (normally FUN to me) are not getting done, because I feel exhausted all the time. I don't do enough to feel so tired. I have already made some changes to my diet and will be losing a bit of weight, but I want some energy...NOW! Caffeine is not enough and is spent quickly. Energy supplements (5Hour Energy) work if I take them early in the day, but will not last until I get off work in the afternoons. If I take them later, I can't sleep that night. I'm thinking I need some B12. Have any of you done that? Any other suggestions?
I was feeling like that and started taking one a day vitamin's. Now I feel a lot better. I was drinking so much coffee that it made me go to sleep from just trying to keep on going.
But after the first week I noticed a difference. I have gotten a b 12 shot for a boost till I got my vitamins going. It will keep you bouncing! lol They work wonders!

@casportpony Sorry about your peafowl, I hope things improve quickly!
@chickadoodles Hope your girl gets no worse and it's gone soon!
Thanks Chicki.

Kathy I hope your birds recover quickly!
What I read last night was an article posted by petco that said to boost the vitamins to help the fight off the illness. Just thought it might help your birds also.
I am using canine red cell 1 cap per 3 gallon or 5 gallon bucket.

Wisher, exercise, vitamins, fruits and balanced diet was what I was going to say too. And might not be a bad idea to get some blood tests done either. Oh, and are you hydrated?

Pannkaka:

2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
3 eggs
4 cups milk
2½ ounces butter
(a spritz of vanilla extract)
(loads of cardamom)

Melt the butter. Mix all the dry ingredients, add milk, eggs, butter (and optional vanilla extract and cardamom) and whisk everything a bit until it's even. Letting it sit for half an hour and whisking again makes it easier to not get lumps in it, or you could first combine the dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls and mix in the dry stuff while whisking all the time. Line a oven tin with baking paper and pour the mix in, bake at 400F for about half an hour.

Serve with jam. Or without. It's tasty both ways. And you can add some whipped cream, or Diva can have it with ice cream.
