I know some people that had to get lamps that have sun bulbs in them to help with their depression in the winter months. They have to have their lamps on them so many hours a day. They say it has really helped them.![]()
SAD lights are not expensive. They cost under $50.00 for some versions:I can relate!!!! Definitely need to get in the sunlight for a few hours everyday!! BY the 4th cloudy day I'm toast. Cant function at all. Havent invested in the sun bulb , but have thought of it!!!! My best prevention is to stand out in the sunshine everyday!!! Especially fall and winter.
I'm sure my co pay for a sun bulb is more than stepping out the door!!![]()
Quote: I googled them and found target has them pretty reasonable 40.00

Thanks ROn-- you are a gem. Honestly I just never knew how to call them. FOrtunately I dont work in an office during thedaylight hours anymore, so I can get out side everyday when the sun is up and shining bright. However I will invest in a couple because as I said by the 4th day I'm good for nothing. Just focused on getting thru the day. SO much for having fair skin to absorb as much as posssible . . .
Ron, A thought just popped into my head . . . . would this light be good enough to kill mold and mildew just like the sun does??? I think I found a better purpose for those lights!!!!!!! Put them in the basement where very little sunlight can reach.
They might. Water filter systems use a light now to kill bacteria. Thanks ROn-- you are a gem. Honestly I just never knew how to call them. Hopefully all this snow and winter mess will be over soon and spring will pop it's head up!SCG-- how are you doing?? Looks like another storm arriving Thur-Friday, but I cant see on the local weather if it will hit you too. Possibly not as it is centered off Martha's vineyard in the forecasts. Hope you get a pass on this one.
Governor has declared a state of emergency here in Massachusetts. Calling in heavy equipment from other New England states, and using the National Guard to dig out all the fire hydrants.Bringing in special equipment to melt the snow-- though no one mentioned where that water will go. The ground is frozen solid here . . . .makes me wonder why the snow cannot be dumped into the ocean like they used to years ago. IT all ends up t here anyway via the rivers after melt. Poor Boston is under snow. Literally. Even the public transit in Boston has come to a halt.
This is snowmobile weather!!! I had concerns when I saw the condition of the roads, and felt uncertain about letting my kids get on the school bus. THey still needed to travel a side road which is usually in poorer condition and where the bus can get hung up in the snow banks . . . . Thank goodness my kids are tough and will weather (LOL) this out.
