I had to renew my drivers license yesterday

smack me with a board! that was NOT fun!

First, I kept filling out the form wrong (you know, the one that asks for your name and address, and if you are a US citizen) and then they made me take the vision test and those dang numbers kept swirling about!!

I am thinking that since this new license only lasts 10 years, that that is all I have left for driving time.

No pot stirring here! Ron's just calling it like he see's it (and he's right!) They are, in fact, "non-standard" Ameraucanas. The rooster is a Splash from a Blue/Black line and the hens are one Splash (same line as the cock) and two Blue Wheaton hens from a batch of expensive shipped eggs. I have them mostly for the nice blue eggs I get from them, but couldn't resist hatching some to see what I got. There are some blues, splashes, and some "yet to be determined." There are even a couple that look Black, which is not supposed to be possible from that combination.

I just decided to play it safe and call them EEs, nice ones, but EEs, none the less. I think I will ask $5 each, straight run, or $4 each if someone wants them all.

Quote: Smiling-- yes a very profound theme to that movie. My youngest had the privalege of actually seeing a whale up close and personal on a whale whatching trip last summer. I'm hoping between that excitement and my talk about no nation should be killing whales ( JAPAN!!) it is time to let the whales be. Besides they are so co9ncentrated with toxins WHY would any one want to be eating them??? ( I understand the people of the far north have a right to hunt . . .and so they should have that right. At least nothing is wasted and few whales are actually harvested.)

I was also very saddened to hear that Mr. Nimoy had passed. He did live a fairly long life (he was 83) but that really doesn't take the sting away. We are really down to one left of the main characters from the original series now. I only learned that Leonard was a horse lover after he passed. William Shatner breeds and trains champion quarter horses. I was surprised to find that out as well a few years back. It is sad to see these icons (IMO) passing because that really means that I am getting old too.

The last few years I too have been struggling with the loss of the older generation . . . .and to reallize ,surprisingl, how much many have impacted our lives thru the movies. Did Shatner have QH?? DIdnt know that. I did know he had Saddlebreds, including one called "Starship", of course, a loooong time ago. He apparently is still active in the horsy world. Mr Spock was only 83, dont his kind ( Vulcans) live for hundreds of years???? I was not ready for him to pass. Been looking for opportunities locally to meet him. ( ANd my list of people to meet is short.)

Quote: Yup, I did the same with my kids. The read for a while each night. One boy devoures fact books and the fills me in the next day and the other eats thru a large book in just a couple days. THey need to switch genres to be well rounded

We have a program run by a retired teacher to bring in readers to the younger students. So many kids are still struggling to read by first grade.

The Island of the BLue DOlphins brings back memories of my grade school best friend. SHe read it. I was too into Horse stories like THe Black Stallion series to take an interest in the Island of the BLue Dophins. I would spend many afternoons at her house, loved her parents: with 3 daughters, they still had room for more. Went to see the dad years later when I needed to talk to an adult and couldnt go to my own parents. He was kind and understanding and supportive. He knew just what to say to a teen being " hit on" by an adult in power. OK . . .now I need to see if I can find them . . . .off to google.

lol, I think every one has trouble with those tests!! I can read the eye chart at the eye doctor easier than those tests for license renewal.

See, now I am very impressed!

You will have some very pretty blue eggs from the pullets that hatched! $5 each is very reasonable.
