The Old Folks Home

Thanks for all the "help" with the potential impending relocation guys.
Oz-I wouldn't dare move that close to the Dude and have him for a landlord?

I could just see him and the DH together. They would probably make great best buds!

Alaskan - moving that far south would never work for DH (tho I could sure handle moving to the Ozarks). Nope. We are just looking at moving closer to civilization, a little less winter and a few less acres to tend. Oh, and a driveway that isn't over a 1/4 mile long. Guess I need to dig out the pics I took of our "back forty" so you guys get a better idea what us two old fogies are trying to take care of. Like I posted on another thread, we are just trying to go a zone or two south and further east, closer to Lake Michigan and away from the "big water" (Superior) which is actually closer to my Onc making it more like an hour drive to him instead of close to three. Also closer to civilization (but hopefully not too close). We don't have much for a city wardrobe. Our idea of goin' to town clothes are clean jeans and the flannel shirts we keep back for just such a purpose or I might wear one of my denim shirts with the pretty embroidery of flowers and such.

The Ozarks have occasional snow and the cost of living is much lower here. Come on down!

SCG here is the picks of the eggs and packing. Do not open in your house! lol I packed them for the extreme cold weather you are having.

The straw will help them not freeze and pad the boxes for shipping to help them not break. The bubble wrap is 12" folded in half and rolled another 12". and then more bubble wrap around all the eggs then straw on the bottom and all four sides and top of the box. And the box was a Priority C box.
Apparently I used the wrong box and or boxes can you please tell me which size boxes I should be using for the 15.40 rate on shipping?
I did write Fragile all over the box and a note to call for pick up. When I told my post master what was in the box she tried to charge me even more at a rate of 55.00!

Use the large priority box and use the online shipping app from usps.com. We have an auto drop off box for boxes so we can put them in on Saturday to get them going for Monday delivery--sometimes Tuesday though.

I have been ordering "regional box A" from usps.com. Those boxes fit inside medium flat rate box with a little room for padding between. Double boxing helps alot

Thanks Ron, but when I went on the USPS website it gave me choices of so many boxes I was not sure what size to get. I thought I did get the large priority. But it just cost me 34.00. So is there a size besides large?

It is the 12"x12" priority large flat rate box:

It is $17.90

That looks like a mighty nice pack job and I REALLY APPRECIATE THE WARNING TO NOT OPEN IT IN MY HOUSE. (COUGH: DSQARD).

As far as the boxes go I just ordered online the free priority boxes. Try a box 7 and a box 4 or 1. I think that's what I ended up using.

Thanks so much Ron and SCG!
