I'm looking into wrapping my hives this winter too.Yeah I thought if we painted them dark it would be enough, but we looked today about how to wrap them in the fall. Will definitely be doing that this year.
I hived them a different way this year, put extra boxes on the bottom then just placed the package box in that and then the frames on top of that with the queen. It's supposed to be less traumatic than the shake method.
I have never had rhubarb

The honey flow is so strong now I can't keep up with adding hive bodies, building frames and getting them installed.
I have so many chicks hatching, it's just an all day workload. I came in from building frames because it just started pouring rain.
I added a super to one hive yesterday but need to do two more hives today if it stops raining.
SCG Can you make a video of Ms.Piggy acting up -with sound - I know we'd all enjoy it.
Long ago, we had Dee Dee with whirling dervish, a cocker that won her championship so fast she never got lead trained. Anyhow she had many odd habits. When she decided it was chow time she would stand on her hind legs and play the gate like a harp while uttering 'uh uh uh uh' loudly and for as long as it took to get results. She would also drool so profusely, her paws were soaking wet and she rusted the gate wire. She was a real favorite anyhow.
