You get double because you deserve it!

It's understandable to be confused. We were in a bit of a panic, too, and we're both health professionals. What strength is your prednisone? I'm guessing 20 mg. You may want to call your doctor on Tuesday and see if they want you to stay at 60 mg (or 40 mg) for a bit longer than the course above. I know you're a larger human, as is my BF, and he needed a higher and longer course before we started to see the symptoms go away. It's a great start, however, and could be enough of what you need.

The b's should be fine with what you're on.

Also you may want to call the bp cuff company - again I know you're a larger human (at work they call my bf "large human being" or "lhb" - no joke) and if the bp cuff is too small you'll get falsely elevated bp readings. The companies sell an XXL cuff that you may need.

Did you get something to treat the ear infection?

My boss started it. We had to order special supplies at work because the bonnets, gowns and shoe covers "one size fits all" didn't fit him. Boss is very loud and jovial and proclaims "LHB!" the first time he sees BF each day. So it sticks.

For the record, I'm "MOTHER HEN!"

Could be worse.

the cuff goes on nicely and fastens comfortably much more comfortably than they did in the hospital I put it on first thing when I got home. It has a built in shape which allows you to do the cuff one handed.

I am assuming the medicine for the bladder infection will cover the ear infection.... What i have going I have treated in the past with polysporin... on the outside of the ear.

I forgot to answer this one Prednizone is 20 mg each.
Trouble is I dont have a primary doctor yet. Still waiting for my cards for "Care 1ST" and a form to fill out for my doctor. I finally got signed up for Medi-Cal and the health plans are limited. Care 1st covers the clinics that I went to up on the mountain. They are all Federal clinics.... which means either Reservation clinics or converted "free" clinics here in town. Dont get me wrong they took good care of me before.

If I get the cards and a doctor before the prednazone runs out I will ask.

thank you so much.

The doses sound super high compared to the quarter 5mg pill our dachsund gets daily :P That's for an IBD-like thing though. Nice thing about prednisone is that it's dirt cheap. I think 12 euros buys a years worth for us.

I have had to give it to horses before.... Prescribed... for allergic responses....

1/4mg per Kilo.... a normal horse is about a thousand pounds 454 kilos or 113 milligrams
My horse is twice that....

Georgette, a girl I knew in high school, showed up one day with one side of her face drooping low. She told us it was Bells Palsy but, of course we didn't understand anything about it.

You know young folks think they are invincible. I don't recall how long her full recovery took but, she got back to being herself and all was good.

I know you will do your best to take care of yourself Deb.

We are with you all the way

The crock pot is a wonderful idea. Yes, the antibiotic you are on should take care of both infections. Take the prednizone as instructed, and go to the ER again in a couple weeks if needed, until you get a primary care physician. Don't be afraid to let your mother, and son help out as much as possible for now. You take care of yourself.
