The Old Folks Home

For the record, my experience with tying goats was different. Mine had never been tied or even worn a collar or taught to lead. The lady I got them from looked at me like I was crazy, but she caught them, I put the collars and a lead on them, then hooked the collar to the loop with a large carabiner. We did the same thing with the second goat and I was on my way. They rode fine and didn't even seem to mind.

Chickens will lay down while the car is moving and actually travel well. Using the box is good advice, he will be fine.

We will be making a 5 hour (one way) trip to pick up a rooster Friday. We have a Honda Odyssey mini van and a huge pet carrier.
My dumber half thinks we can cover the pet carrier with a black bed sheet, and the rooster will sleep the entire way home.
I want to take his truck.
He dont want his big ugly mud tires on the interstate highway. And he is whining some crap about a Hemi and gas mileage

I like my van clean

Why would one rooster make your car "dirty"? and why a huge pet carrier for one rooster? I agree with the cardboard box with some wood chips or some such in the bottom, close the top, punch a few holes, good to go. Sorry, but a 5 hour drive on knobby mudder tires can't be all that comfortable... I don't imagine the mileage is all that great either, although gas here last night was $1.38/gallon... pretty astounding actually.

Deb, how're you feeling? Symptoms any better?

Very very dizzy and hard to walk a straight line. the Bells is doing well I can shut my eye and half way blink. I been using a night time cover over my eyes to keep them shut it works. just an old pillow case folded into a strip....

from thursday to monday i lost 12.2 pounds I feel it still dropping. I honestly think its the blood pressure drop that causing me the balance grief. I boght an Onan BP monitor for home. Cant get the cuff to work on my upper arm but can get it to work on my forearm today I got 155/90.... still not good but the doc said its ok to go slow. NO telling how long my blood pressure was in the 190 s.

almost done with the antibiotics. one more day. then two more days of prednazone.

One thing that I want checked is the skin around my left ear just around the opening. during ER and ever since it developed blisters and has been oozing blood um er or serum? Once that started the pain around my ear has subsided.... I have been puttin polysporin on it to keep it soft but probably shouldnt be doing that either.

So not eating much, nausiia is handled by pepto, Eating mostly fruit called ACAI in the form of a sorbet no sugar added. And drinking water.

Taking long naps and actually sleeping....

My pants threaten to fall off now and then. LOL

Oh and my insurance still hasnt come through so dr appoint ment will have to be at urgent care somewhere.

@superchemicalgirl

Currious, why would you not tie them down? More of a fan of some cobbled together wire or whatnot screen to keep them in the back?

yep unless they are raised on a stake out line its not a good idea. I had one amost garrot himself trying to slip under a chainlink fence collar caught and he turned around about four times before he passed out.....

But Wishers way would be a good one. the only Issue I could see is if they wove their way into one single rope.
