The Old Folks Home

SCG I had to catch up with several pages - but back there you posted a picture of Caramel with her smile. Couldn't get over her perfect white teeth. I'm so envious

I'm envious, too. I have to admit I basically have a panic attack from start to finish at the dentist, and the "start" is the day before. I shake in the chair the entire time and I cried the entire time I got my (first and only) filling.

I also might have flipped out the first time a goat lost her tooth. Apparently they lose teeth and grow them back.

Leaving this morning with a van full of birds for the Chattahoochee Valley Poultry Association show in Newnan, GA. Very excited!

Bruce, bunnies are great. Had any decent winter weather?

Nope, it has been the exact opposite of last year temperature wise. We about froze our butts of last year January through March. This year we have gone sub zero F only a few times though it got down to the -10F area this past weekend with -35F wind chill. We had days where the low was above the average high (which would kill people in the south to know means about 28F January through the beginning of Feb).

Not much for snow either. Spouse managed to go snowshoeing around the fields 4-5 times but it got warm the beginning of this month, all but gone now. I fired up the garden tractor with blower only 4 times so far and once was to move out the snow that blew in from the fields after I cleared the prior day. Kind of sad looking out mid February and seeing brown instead of white.

Arg.... So, I rigged stuff up for two separate areas, then realized I really needed 3... Figured out that there is no way for 3 to work... Only two... Realized one chick had side pipped... Made sure he had a hole, yep, normal side pipper, a bit of blood, but he can now breathe, might be OK.

Anyway... One out,

I will pretend that all of the "don't open the incubator, toss and roll eggs about, right when they are starting to hatch because that will cause dead shrink wrapped chicks" is total bunk.
