We went through a rough patch with our cable service at the end of December. The tech replace the cable that goes under the road--Did not fix the problem. A special crew with a lift truck had to come out and fix the connection to fiber--We were out for quite a few days over a two week period of time. It would work in the evening but not during the day. It would cut out about 10 in the morning and come back on about 5 in the evening.Hi everyone![]()
I'm back, again, sigh. The DSL was getting worse and worse again and then puked out completely, again, on Saturday. After almost /12 hour with tech support a very nice but clearly under trained young lady finally tells me that she is just going to have to issue a ticket and get a tech out to us next week. Well of course the service came back up shortly before he called to say he was on his way. Told him we're functional and he said he might as well swing by anyway and check things out anyway but he was going to call the office to find out what they did anyway. Long story short, my DSL and internet was out of synch. The office had basically done a cold boot from the port and streightened things out, again. The tech was great. He said, "didn't you have the same problem two weeks ago, on the weekend too?" Yep. He took one look at my download speed and went, "Oh crap". Let me see if I can do anything about that. After working here, from the POP, back to here, switching out modems,,,,,,,,in frustration he finally had to surrender. He apologized and told me he was just going to have to send it back to central office listed as "congestion" (meaning too much traffic and too little capacity). Yeah, no kidding. I told him I didn't understand why they didn't replace the phone lines when the power company came thru and repleced and buried all their lines last summer. That's when he told me two guys down the county road a couple miles from us filed a formal complaint with the FCC about the lack of speed and constant drops interfering with their ability to get any work done from their houses. He told me that might help to get something done, since our SP recently decided to take the "Obama" money for rural high speed internet upgrades and they are now required to supply 10 mg minimum service withing 5 years to all their customers. I am supposed to be getting at least 1 meg but the tech couldn't get me up to half that. On DSL, yeah, really. Well, anyway, I'm back, at least until the weekend when all the tourists, weekenders and teenagers are home with their toys and crash me again.
Now I have to go back and get caught up. Oh, I hope your dentist went well and you are not treading water Chicka!!!!!
Oh Ron that is terrible but yet so funny! It made me think of that hen riding the train across the country!Did you guys miss me?
I got a call today that one of my hens was running around the neighbor hood. I left work and went to rescue it. It is one of my Trader Joes hens and this one likes to fly and wander. I have rescued it a couple of times so this time after collecting her from the neighbors back yard I clipped the flight feathers on one of her wings.
Silly chicken!
