The Old Folks Home

I get it Perchie, you have a frozen chicken and figured the slow warming of a crock pot, will revive it with less trauma - right ?

I need more chick keeping space

Stupid chicks han't all sold... They are getting close to flying out of the brooder, and next weekend more will be hatching.

Ah! I could put them in the green tractor you say... Nope says I, I have 4 bantams in there.

I could put them in the quail cage you say, nice and draft free, perfect for young chicks.... Nope says I, I have my Spitz pair in there.

Oooh, maybe I could put the spitz in the overflow coop.... And then the chicks in the quail cage.... Hummmmmm

Or you could build one of these

using plastic wire. No glue. just zip ties to stretch the cage wire.
put it in the green house when its time to clean lift it up and rake and set it back down and refill with bedding.

Deb I have put frozen chicken in a lg. pot with some chicken broth and seasoning and it thaws and cooks nicely on low heat also. If you want. Or crockpot will thaw and cook nicely also. Just use broth and seasonings.

Quote: Deb they sell them every where. If you buy from a private party you will get a better deal. Just take it for a test drive and have a mechanic go over it for you. :) We love ours!
I am hoping we can go full time campers after DH retires in about 5 years.

I been pricing them just not ready to jump right now. I have seen the age and quality I want for about 1700. Only need it to make it sixty miles to my house. It only needs to have a working kitchen and bathroom. Travelling in an RV takes two. that I will never have.

I know a couple that retired at 50. He lost job, decided they could do it if they sold their house. Bought a nice RV. Rent a year round campsite here in upstate NY, and one in Florida. I think they pay $1,200 a yr for each site, water and electricity included. They have a shed for storage, flower beds, sidewalk etc, just like a home.

Sounds good.

Deb, check out this site. It's 50 and over RV'ers and there are people on there from every state and country just about! There are a lot of single people that camp and take trips.
There are a lot of old timers on there that are very helpful in every aspect of the RV's. They can help you with just about any problem and they are all very nice and very helpful.
You have to request to join the group but they are good about letting people join pretty quickly.
