I made the mistake of helping out on the hatching with friends thread....I have to get off of that thread....It gives me a headache! It is too busy.

Too true! Even this thread sometimes leaves me sucking dust... Go to answer a post only to find that's it's OBE (Overtaken By Events).

Well hell... Maybe I ought to go pick up a digital scale and see where they're at weight wise. 

I picked one up at Aldi's for $10. They don't always have the same stuff though. Weighs grams, ounces, pounds to eleven. Seems to be very accurate. This guy might be getting too big for it now, pic was from a few months ago, should be putting on some weight now that he's almost a yr old.

I just recently got on that thread, crazy, nobody was around on the few threads I'm on to answer the question of what to do with chicks when they start hatching , first time I've used a incubator, figured I'd ask a hatching thread, hundreds of pages went by nothing chicken or hatching related before it was answered the next day by sallysunshine, I can't believe she reads through all that. I only asked it once though.
Alaskan helped me out with advice either here or on dixie before it was answered there.

I was hoping for a answer right that second Lol!
Was panicking, didn't know whether to leave the hatched chicks in, take them out while waiting for the others to hatch, not supposed to open bator....Alaskan walked me through it. I ended up taking them out as they got up and walking, dried out faster out of it and under brooder lamp.
Maybe I'll panic less next time...
Didn't help they started hatching a few days early. I went to put the water in to up humidity had pips! Had been running 25-28% the whole time! Almost all hatched and some were old eggs.
